I would like to see John Reid as PM. He would kick some butts .

Just wondered who you think would make a good PM and why.

If John Reid, or Golden Brown for that matter, became PM what then happens if Scotland gains independance from the not so UK? Two thirds of Scots want an independant Scotland as do the majority of English voters so it is going to happen sooner or later.

Piffle · 04/12/2006 14:06

John Reid
Heavens no. Dreadful man
GB would be good, but for the dullest (but politically important) reasons
I think Custy actually...

tiredemma · 04/12/2006 14:09

I quite like that Alan Johnson, But doubt whether he could "cut it" as PM. I quite like his "poor boy- done good" story, like Richard Branson.

In fact Richard Branson, I think that he should be PM.

paulaplumpbottom · 04/12/2006 14:10

Can anyone really see Gordon Brown on the world stage? He has no charisma, it needs to be someone who can stand up for the British Public.

christmaspudding · 04/12/2006 14:15

I like John Reid, even though his nickname is the rottwieler (not sure sp??).

Callisto · 04/12/2006 14:34

David Cameron in answer to the OP.

AngelOfLove · 04/12/2006 14:39

I was going to say David Cameron but I think he might be too much of a pushover. All that embrace and hug criminals speech. This country would be worse off with him in power. Then again, it can't get much worse.

persephonesnape · 04/12/2006 15:28

Anthony Head.

paulaplumpbottom · 04/12/2006 16:10

I think David Cameron to.

ChristmasCandleIsLit · 04/12/2006 16:15

I like Harriet Harman.

poppynic · 04/12/2006 16:18

George Clooney - we should nab him before America does

expatinscotland · 04/12/2006 16:20

Not Gordon Brown.

ChristmasCandleIsLit · 04/12/2006 16:22

What are the chances of having another female PM after Maggie Thatcher's disaster as PM.

at George Clooney

Callisto · 04/12/2006 21:06

'Maggie Thatchers disaster'. If I could be arsed I would take the time to give you a short history lesson on 20th century british politics.

fridascruffs · 04/12/2006 21:13

polly toynbee. And she'd have the Tories behind her, right?

fridascruffs · 04/12/2006 21:14

Don't you think Oprah would be a good President?

persephonesnape · 04/12/2006 21:25

rather Hillary in 2008! For all the bile that rose when she stood by her man ( although you can never really know what goes on between two people..) I'd love to see Hillary Clinton as president. I've a lot of time for her. i feel she's moved towards the right to be more electable, but i truly believe she has a good agenda.

OnTheBoozeAgain · 04/12/2006 21:34

I think Condalisa Rice (not sure sp? her name) has a good chance of president.

JinglePrunes · 04/12/2006 21:36

DominiConnor.
I'm surprised nobody mentioned him.

paulaplumpbottom · 04/12/2006 21:40

Miss Rice is pro-choice and won't get the Republican Nomination.

Hillary beingPresident would be disasterous.

santasaltire · 04/12/2006 21:43

I don't like John Reid. purely because i don't like anyone who has been
Defence secretary1
Gordon Brown i think. Callisto has a good point about the independance thing though. Personally i don't know if any of the UK countries has enough economy etc to go it alone. Plus, Alex salmod et al are idiots. No other word for them

Callisto · 05/12/2006 08:07

I think economically it would be a disaster for Scotland to completely devolve, I think England would be fine as the economy is so London based. Having said that, look at the Celtic
Tiger phenomenon.

uwila · 05/12/2006 08:25

David Cameron for the UK. (don't believe for a second that Scotland will really gain independance -- especially not with the increase taxation in the North Sea Oil.... stupid stupid Gordon)

Condoleeza Rice would get my vote in the US, but I don't expect her to run. Maybe she could run for Vice President. John McCain is a possibility. I used to say that if Hilary got elected, I'd leave the country. But, I already have. I think the Republican need someone with a bit more military leadership and a bit less religeon. I for one would certainly welcome a pro choice Republican.
