I have to be really angry to start a thread in this topic .

Cutting benefits for people with addiction problems is surely only going to lead to them committing more crime to raise the money for drugs? Seeing as mental health support is already virtually nonexistent I can't imagine how they think this is going to work.

Perhaps he doesn't mention pensions cos these are paid to people at the end of their working life. Just try getting another job at 66 years of age after compulsory redundancy.... as someone in my family has found.

You think it's a good idea, LikeIcan, yes very easy for you to say cut their benefits.... But these people are ill. They didn't choose drink or drugs they chose them. There but for the grace of God, remember they could have just as easily chose you. They need adaquate support not financial penalties.
Also think you'd eat those words... It's a good thing...... If they were to steal the money off you because their money had been cut and they wanted a fix......
A lot People suffering from addictions would steal from their own grandmothers to feed their habit, good God not saying that that's right. Not in a miilion years....but if they can steal from their own. Believe me they'll have no qualms about stealing from me or you...Still think it's a good idea..

I haven't read the whole thread, but the Op is a bit misleading.they are not cutting benefits to somebody because they are obese.They are cutting benefits to people specifically claiming ESA (ie claining they are too disabled to work) because of their obesity and who refuse to accept treatment.

Not quite the same thing as obese people who can't get a job!!
