Cannot for the life of me find a link to it on the net, but will post as soon as i do!

It mentions the Pirate sex thread as if it was a serious thread....

No mention of Fanjo though!!!

OP posts:

I thought prufock was a reference to tsEliot, personally! didn't know about the book.

tamum · 01/10/2006 18:58

God, do you know I posted that, went off to get the children's tea and thought bugger, it's probably poll, isn't it.... Damn. And what's worse you spotted it

motherinferior · 01/10/2006 18:59

I can tell you about eye colour too, if you're worried

soaringflyingCOD · 01/10/2006 18:59

poll pole
thats a tricky one

tamum · 01/10/2006 18:59

Prufrock is a reference to the T.S. Eliot poem- there isn't a book is there?

motherinferior · 01/10/2006 19:00

Franny and Zooey book. The Lovesong of JAP is in Eliot's Poems 1922. I did it for A level, back in the days when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

tamum · 01/10/2006 19:00

MI

Twiglett · 01/10/2006 19:01

J Alfred not Arthur

yes like I'm really embarrassed about that one

always preferred The Waste Land mesel' .. April is the cruellest month etc etc

KellyKrueger1978 · 01/10/2006 19:02

all these crossed psots were confusing, I got it now!

Twiglett · 01/10/2006 19:02

never been that keen on Salinger .. always felt him over-rated .. through my grand reading of 1 book (Catcher of course)

Oh MI just finished the Night Listener cos you were waffling on about it .. loved it till 3/4s way through .... good recommendation

Tinker · 01/10/2006 19:03

Um, would I be being a wet blanket in reporting (not really reporting, ykwim) the post with the extracts from the Torygraph in because no-one is named??????

morningpaper · 01/10/2006 19:07

It's a great article!

Well done that lady

I didn't get the Frannyandzooey reference

how shameful

I feel like I should change my name to something more literary

LiliClouseau · 01/10/2006 19:07

ahem
what about foreign MNers?
and MNers abroad?
the power of MN extends beyond the barrier of language (and typing in the case of we know who) and across oceans

tamum · 01/10/2006 19:07

Oh bum, good point Tinker.

I liked Journey of the Magi best. To the extent that my friend and I competed to be able to use it as the poem to be discussed whatever the question in our exams. Write about a poem about love-- ah, JotM. Write about a poem about death, ah yes, JotM etc.

When did the census take place? Did I miss that?

FillyjonktheBananaEater · 01/10/2006 19:53

catcher in the rye is pretty shite, IMO

franny and zooey is much better (of course)

his best book imo is the short stories-eg for esme with love and squalor

just thought I'd chuck that in.

our franny, of course, is lovely. And not here, off gallavanting.

FillyjonktheBananaEater · 01/10/2006 19:56

But WHO is Ruth March?

Hmm, we know she is 40

and recycles her knickers

and has a baby of more than 16 months and another one on the way.

hmmmm

I know its not me. My kids are older....

rustybear · 01/10/2006 20:33

It's pole position ( see Formula One reports) Presumably there was originally a pole to mark the starting point?

rustybear · 01/10/2006 20:37

I did a search for recycling knickers. Found a thread where Tinker says her dad used to turn hers inside out & Prufrock revealed that you can wear thongs 6 ways.....

TheBlonde · 01/10/2006 21:13

Other Ruth clues from the article...

Telly Addicts
Environment
How do you solve a problem like Maria?
plastic bags at supermarkets

her mom lives far away
she possibly breastfed

who is she??

Pixel · 02/10/2006 00:41

My name is a literary reference but I'm not sure if anyone will get it. (Clue: you might if you are a sci-fi fan).

MrsJohnCusack · 02/10/2006 00:48

would like to know what my name says about my educational background

ha ha

KellyKrueger1978 · 02/10/2006 00:51

the pixel eye?

mamama · 02/10/2006 01:33
