Why are the ProPalestininian protestors so violent?

Watching the propalestinian protestors is quite scary, the seem very violient. why can't they march peacefully? I've been watching them on the news protest in different countries and they cause criminal damage to property, yesterday they beat up a Hassidic family who had to be hospitalised, and they cover their faces like criminals. Just wondering why they can't convey their message peacefully.

Maybe they were a little bit upset at the Israelis singing Gaza doesn't need any schools because all their children are dead. Binning schools isn't very peaceable either.

Protests are highly emotional. Most people are peaceful but some get carried away and some people use it as an excuse to vandalise or be violent.

Its not limited to people demonstrating against the Israeli assault on Gaza.

I'm pretty sure that it wasn't all protesters, as with any protest they are always a few who go to far. Bit unfair to tarnish them all, I'm not violent, and neither anyone who protested anywhere near me were either.

waffly - I'm talking about the protests before that singing clip went around. i agree its not everyone but you can't deny they are very violent - the ones in the group with their faces covered. in france they rioted like the riots we had in the UK a while back. I watched them protest in the tunnels somewhere in london and they are really violent.

I guess they feel the world it just looking on doing nothing though (they're right). I heard on the news this morning that despite it's protests about the bombing the US is sending Israel more ammunition because it's supplies are depleted.

I haven't seen protests in tunnels this time. The other year a friend was at a protest against Gaza being bombed by Israel in London and she got charged in a tunnel by police on horseback, is that the violence you mean?

Protests lapse into violence sometimes. It's not particular to protests against Israel bombing Palestine.

Peaceful protests are much more effective.
Mind you, bombing the life out of children, families, schools and hospitals would probably raise my blood pressure a little. I can understand the anger.

mummywentshopping having been on protests in London against the sickening actions of the Israeli govt I can tell you that the protestors ranged in age from babies in prams to the very elderly, that many children were present and people of all faiths. There was no violence whatsoever, many smiling faces and people assembled peacefully in their thousands to listen to the speeches.

Ps mummy what an odd thing, to join mumsnet purely to post a factual untruth about Pro Palestine protests. If I was going to join a parenting forum to make a comment about anything that had particularly worried or concerned me this week, I think I might have chosen the indiscriminate slaughter of children in Gaza. Whenever there is a demonstration, people will always shit stir and allege violence, infiltration etc etc., to try to muddy the water and discredit the protestors.

There probably are a few idiots as you would expect in any protest. But as a widespread phenomena I'm surprised not to have heard about it.

Maybe it's true. Maybe that story about pro Israeli bloggers using social media and message boards in a collaborated effort to rally support for their cause is true. I thought it was a wacko conspiracy theory. Maybe not.

Oh and the bastards chanting "there are no schools as we killed all the children".... There are no words.

What utter depth of depravity have those people reached who sing such songs, who watch the children dying from hilltops whilst eating popcorn, who cheer as bombs drop.

Besides nowadays all protests are being infiltrated by agents provocateurs with the media strategically positioned to film them. And this is not a conspiracy theory, despite the obvious anger that people feel about the shooting fish in a pond attitude of Israel towards Palestinian children, but something I have seen again and again.

I was wondering why anti-Palestinian demonstrators in Israel are so violent. Can anyone tell me why the deputy mayor of Haifa and his son should have been beaten unconscious with iron bars?

Mummy I haven't seen any violence on protests in London. Do you have any evidence? I was on Saturday's march and I found it a very sombre occasion. Lots of families there.
