Will it Nickynacky? Baby Ps killers didn't get that long.

Groovee · 25/07/2014 17:27

He shared with his twin sister, but on the night he went "missing" he slept alone as he was ill with a chest infection.

Am I right in thinking BabyP's parents weren't convicted of his death though? I would need to google but something tells me they weren't.

I posted on another thread saying 10-15 years, but I would expect something in between.

at the end of the day she is a murderer. I don't care whether or not they can't prove she intended to kill him yada yada yada, she beat a child so severely that he died from his injuries. she failed to seek help for him. she sustainedly abused him over four days and that's all we know about, most likely there will have been abuse before that given the stuff she had googled.

As for her children, what would be in their best interests would be to know the truth about what their mother is and what she has done. When they are adults they can choose to have a relationship with her.

I know a family where this kind of abuse was prevalent and the worst part was that when the children were removed the memories they retained were played down as having been imagined because their foster carers and ss felt it was in their interests to protect them from the truth. It's far more of a shock to find out the real truth when you're an adult and to be made to believe you were wrong remembering certain things as a child.

What is in their best interests is to not have to see her ever again.

I hope she wrots in jail.

NacMacFeeglie · 25/07/2014 17:32

He slept alone and died a painful death alone.

I went to college. Worked full time. Have four dc all close in age. Lone parent. And I never beat any of my children over four days. Not even when I had a complete breakdown brought on by a cancer scare.

I'm not saying I'm perfect and everyone should cope. I'm saying that not coping is not an excuse to beat a child to death. She deserves the maximum and I hope she gets it.

Nicknacky · 25/07/2014 17:34

I don't disagree with what you are saying, wannabe. She has been convicted of being responsible for his death and the rest is semantics.

NoArmani, Tracey Connelly was convicted of causing or allowing to cause Peter's death.

Astonway · 25/07/2014 17:34

I read this on the BBC News website and the sheer cruelty this woman displayed to her wee son made my blood curdle. What was the father doing? The tone of the BBC article struck me as all sympathy with the woman - why wasn't she identified earlier? Grrrrrr Shock

Groovee · 25/07/2014 17:45

The father wasn't part of his life. He wasn't on the birth certificate but has been named today and was in court and left right away with no comment. I believe he was in a long term relationship while with Mikaeel's mother.

So very sad for that wee boy & his surviving siblings. They lived about a mile from me & I remember the police helicopters searching, also checking my garden & nearby cycle path, looking for him.

It is impossible to understand the mind of someone who systematically beat their own child, did not seek medical advice & allowed them to die. I'd always "hoped" he'd died of natural causes & she'd panicked, hiding the body.

The truth is so much worse; what she put that wee boy through is unimaginable.

Mumof3xox · 25/07/2014 17:46

The father had no involvement did he?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 25/07/2014 17:55

I don't see how her actions as reported, 'fall short of the wicked recklessness required for murder'. If she had struck him once, in the throes of temper, that might 'fall short...' - but beating him repeatedly, over several days, deciding not to take him to the doctor because of the bruises, even when he was barely responding to her - how does that 'fall short...'?

Mumof3xox · 25/07/2014 18:00

Agreed

Nicknacky · 25/07/2014 18:03

Because it has to be proven that she was aware that inflicting these injuries would result in his death. We know now that they did but it's not a decision that crown office takes lightly and investigations would have been made to

TurboWithAKick · 25/07/2014 18:03

How come the report I just read has so much more detail than BBC/sky or the papers online ? I really hope it's fact and not made up

TurboWithAKick · 25/07/2014 18:04

Well no I actually don't 'hope it's fact' I mean lies are preferable to it being the truth

Groovee · 25/07/2014 18:05

What report Turbo?

TurboWithAKick · 25/07/2014 18:08

It's was the msn homepage. Details that I haven't seen elsewhere

Groovee · 25/07/2014 18:09

Could you pm me a link?

This is utterly horrific. There is plenty in place to support parents who are struggling. She was googling things to indicate she needed advice/help, it would be obvious to her that she could seek help from her GP, social services, nursery, anyone. She didn't want to. I don't feel sorry for her. There's nothing wrong with struggling, there's everything wrong with beating a child to death and lying about it. I hope she gets life. Horrific.

Viviennemary · 25/07/2014 18:12

I've just heard a bit on the main news. It really is horrific.

Shia · 25/07/2014 18:15

Groovee, I can't find anymore info on man as already been reported in the daily mail.

Groovee · 25/07/2014 18:16

The daily mail seemed to be the most comphrensive. They've been waiting since january to post it as they were made to remove a lot of their reporting due to scottish legal law.

Yes, same details. I usually avoid the DM so hadn't seen that

GoneGirlGone · 25/07/2014 18:28

She has surely lost the right to be a mother to her other children so I do not believe that she should be entitled to any contact with them. Evil woman.
