Girl in Magaluf giving oral sex to 24 men for free drink

We we were talking about this at work today, and the majority verdict was that this girl is a slapper and will do anything for a free drink.
This may well be true.
However, I was trying to make a point about the objectification of women and how this would never happen the other way around. I couldn't explain myself properly and ended up looking an idiot Blush
Can someone help me explain what I mean.
Maybe this should be in Feminist Chat?

Every bloke
The DJ
Whoever filmed it
The girl
The people who stood back and watched.
All of them.

Who is to blame? Our society. I have no doubt that for whatever reason that girl was made to feel that her actions would make her appear to be more 'fun/cool/sexy'.

Just as I have no doubt that any bloke who considered saying 'no thanks' was plagued by fears of being ridiculed.

The truth of the matter is that this perfectly illustrates the mess we are in. Blokes will have been simultaneously whipping their nobs out whilst thinking 'slag' and girls would have been egging her on in fascinated horror whilst also thinking 'slag' and in the meantime, not one person has stood up and said "actually, are you really sure that you all want to do this?". Not one. That is terrifying.

It is not sexual assault. She was stupid, the reps and the people behind club 18/30 and similar are scum, and I hope that other people learn some kind of lesson from this, but I doubt they will.

no, I don't think so.

was she so drunk she didn't know what she was doing? Was she forced? If either of those apply, then action needs to be taken. Otherwise, ALL concerned need to take a long look at themselves.

no-one in their right mind would think that this was in any way a reasonable thing to do. Places such as Magaluf do attract low-lifes, you don't go there for any other reason than to swill alcohol.

I actually feel sorry for her. This will ruin her life. I won't be surprised if she gets the sack/ and or struggles to find a job. Will many men want to date her?

Double standards will probably mean the men involved will go on with their lives as before.

This type of behaviour is rife on these 18-30 type holidays both amongst the holiday crowd and the club reps. Excessive consumption of cheap alcohol has a lot to do with it. People thinking they can throw caution to the wind because they won't ever see these people again has a lot to do with it. A lack of morals and self respect has a lot to do with it.

I am disgusted and I would never want my child to go on on of these types of holidays.

The reps should be made to stop encouraging this kind of behaviour, but nobody will discourage them because the resorts rely on these drinking grouped to keep the bars and clubs afloat and keep people in employment during the holiday season.

I don't know if I can consider it to be sexual assault because I don't know how drunk the woman was, I don't know how drunk the men were and I think a lot of the club 18-30 holidayers plan to behave in a disgusting and depraved manner before they have consumed the alcohol.

exactly.

while I don't know the circumstances of the girl concerned, there is a lot of sheeplike behaviour about. The idea that an evening that you can remember must mean you didn't have any fun, the idea that swilling until you vomit is funny rather than disgusting, and all the 'wow I was so drunk, look at me'.

I feel sorry for those who live in these places.

It's so frightening. Where is there left to go? Penetrate as many women as possible in a minute?
I just can't think who or how this is wrong - our society allows for this stuff to happen- sex is seen as some kind of currency or funny event, women get their tits out in papers, magazines; how have we got to the stage where some girl is running around like a performing seal ? It's like laughing at asylums all over again.

I agree that this is so warped - she has been foolish....it is a sick sign of the misogyny in our society - but 'ruin her life' - I reckon she'll get an agent and be on the next CBB or something.

I actually know someone that did this at school, to all the blokes at a party. I don't think anyone egged her on. She certainly had a very good Christian upbringing and had no history of being abused and is now in a very well respected profession. We genuinely all saw it as quite funny but also shocking at the time, but it was hardly life-ruining.

I just found it humorous that the issue on this morning seemed to be that she thought she was getting a holiday but turned out to be a drink called "Holiday". As if it would've been ok if she'd actually won a trip somewhere :/

I have done some stupid things in my youth which were luckily not filmed. I cringe about it now.

She will either get home ashamed of herself for being so stupid, get bolloxed off family, keep a low profile and hope it all dies down in a few weeks

Or as i suspect might happen

She will already have a PR person who knows they can make money out of her. She will embark on a round of chat show sofas, maybe Jeremy Kyle. All these shows and mags will pay her and her PR person.

She needs and STI check and so do all the blokes willing to stick their nob in a strangers mouth. Its peer pressure, drink and attention seeking

Vile and deeply depressing.

We drank a lot at that age, and thought we were terribly risqué, but nobody would have dreamed of doing that. Their peers would have thought they were disgusting, not remotely cool or sexy.

If she was my child, I'd be too busy being desperately sad for her, and worried about her future, to be ashamed of her.

Young women can't win - if they don't go along with it then they are prudes, frigid, no fun. if they do they are slags, slappers, "disgusting".

She's a young woman who was coerced into doing something while she was drunk. She's not disgusting.

yes it is disgusting she didn't get the holiday, she did something stupid (to repeat others thank god i was young before mobile phones), but she weighed up the pros cand cons and came up with a decision.
She decided to be a public prostitue quickly suck quite a few pricks for a few hundred quid.
At least she could get the rep for fraud.
