Theres a big difference between playing God and deciding calmly to kill your children and being at end of tether and driven to act in a desperate way.

We cannot say what happened here of course.

But if people are being compassionate its because they think its the latter cause and not the former.

My feelings would be the same if the father had done this, handcream.

I was asked whether I had children, I know the next question would have been are they disabled and then it was rudely pointed out that I needed to put my children above my parents (by complete strangers!!)

Just because I wasn't agreeing with their views.

Hi there,
just to confirm that, as Dawn posted earlier, we will be removing speculative posts regarding these deaths.

Don't your children live away at the most expensive boarding school in the country handcream?

handcream · 24/04/2014 20:18

Ever long - sorry it really isn't up to you to tell me what I equate to what. I have my own views thank you.

What have my ds being at boarding schools got to do with this thread??

What a terrible terrible thing to happen. My heart goes out to every single member of that family.

We don't know what happened. But so many on mumsnet know enough about the relentless caring and truly hopeless powerless feeling of being unable to make it better, to be unable to help your child.

And that's why so many here have deep compassion and join in the grief all this family must be feeling.

My heart goes out to the brave people on this thread who've shared their stories and their heart break. And I have sincere and strong respect for the way people can show compassion and care for the mother, even as we say, it wasn't right.

In the main this thread has filled me with awe and sadness, and a strange kind of hope - that people don't have to flay this woman alive and make her into evil incarnate - but can reserve judgement and not need to find the person to point the finger at in such a sad sad situation.

Is a thread about three DEAD children really the place for a catfight?!

I agree where my children go to school has nothing at all to do with this thread. It was something that bowlers brought up for some very strange reason!!!

Most of you appear to be confusing quality of life with value of life.

They are NOT the same thing. People (including very tiny children) may value lives that to others appear devoid of any positive experiences - filled with pain, suffering and deprivation of all the things that the rest of us take for granted.

But that person may still value what they have. And it is NOT for others to make that value judgement for them. Especially a load of randoms on an internet forum.

Report
fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 24/04/2014 20:34

But noone IS making a value judgment on the childrens' lives.

Noone at all.
