In the trial prosecution evidence. Aha.

OP posts:
noddyholder · 26/11/2013 20:49

we'll see but yes allegedly

BlondieTinsellyMinx · 26/11/2013 20:50

I doubt Nigella took drugs but I wouldn't blame her if she had taken mind-altering substances while married to the abusive Saatchi!

noddyholder · 26/11/2013 20:53

Can I ask those who doubt she took drugs why you doubt it? Most of my mates have and still do take drugs. All professional several semi famous and all parent s now. Why is she different? (serious q btw)

Animation · 26/11/2013 20:54

Noddy . . so I don't see the point of talking as if there's some big drug scene going on here!

So far it very much looks like Nigella's getting caught in the cross fire.

Probably will fizzle out.

teejwood · 26/11/2013 20:59

I don't necessarily doubt she may have taken drugs at some point, but the insinuation that she took drugs on a daily basis for a decade (and the rest of it regarding her children), while she built up her business empire, was never caught doing it by the paps etc and Saatchi only realised as their relationship was breaking up.... is a crock of crap imho.

It will finish her in the US

teejwood · 26/11/2013 21:12

Noddy which is exactly why he's doing this imho - to kill her chances in the US and drag her through the mud in the UK. And so (too?) many are buying into it.

There is no evidence barring his emails, that appeared more than a year after the case started. And the word of two people who are being tried for credit card fraud - who never mentioned that "defence" until this autumn. Right. Hmm

noddyholder · 26/11/2013 21:14

Divorces get nasty for non slebs too.

lemonmuffin · 26/11/2013 21:18

jellykat - she didnt get rid.

he got rid of her

Animation · 26/11/2013 21:21

lemonmuffin - I thought she walked out and never went back?

teejwood · 26/11/2013 21:25

lemon he announced to the world he was divorcing her because she refused to publicly say he was wonderful in spite of throttling her in public.

She was granted the divorce on the grounds of his unreasonable behaviour iirc.

I'm not even a Nigella fan or follower but the smear campaign against her that has been running since the summer really has been so transparent.

lemonmuffin · 26/11/2013 21:29

nope. he divorced her

Animation · 26/11/2013 21:32

She left him 1st - walked away - left the poor soul ...

I bet he was livid.

lemonmuffin · 26/11/2013 21:34

no, i don't think thats true

coffeeinbed · 26/11/2013 21:36

She left him but he divorced her.

Valpollicella · 26/11/2013 21:39

He is doing what abusive men like him have always done - try to hit her metaphorically where it hurts now he can't physically abuse her.

Charles Saatchi is, for example, a cunt

TheDoctrineOfWho · 26/11/2013 21:41

The email from CS seems to be the only place where it has been alleged Nigella and her 19 year old daughter were both high.

The police caution is the matter of fact with respect to CS.

TheCrackFox · 26/11/2013 21:44

I do hope if Saatchi has to take the stand that the full implications of perjury are fully explained to him.

MadameDefarge · 26/11/2013 21:45

lemon she left the marital home. He divorced her. Who cares?

Clearly they did not want to married anymore.

Who divorces who on a quicky divorce is immaterial.

JulieMumsnet · 26/11/2013 21:46

Evening.

Thank you to those who have flagged this thread.

We're reminding you that this isn't proven so we're going to be deleting any posts which speculate as it's an ongoing court case and we wouldn't want to jeopardise this.

MadameDefarge · 26/11/2013 21:48

lemon, what is your interest here? why are you so concerned about who divorces who? clearly their marriage was over. for whatever reason. She did not contest it. And indeed cited his unreasonable behaviour.

What is your gripe here?

NorthernLurker · 26/11/2013 21:52

Not to detract from the seriousness if the thread but it's freaking me out that people keep typing 'NL....' I keep doing a double take and thinking 'but I haven't DONE anything'. Which is possibly what Nigella's thinking as well.

I don't understand why anybody would give this statement the credance it is being given by some here. This is one source which is so biased against her.

He put his hands round her throat.

She left the home.

He said he would have to end the marriage because she ahdn't backed him up.

SHE divorced him.

All along he has tried to spin himself in to the victim and all along it's been plain that isn't the case. This is just more fuel on the fire - he is hoping it will make her suffer but it actually just makes him look more and more devious. As for bringing her daughter's name in to it - words fail me. I hope she maintains her silence except in court when she will have to speak.
