link?

DameMargotFountain · 19/12/2012 10:29

yeah yeah...come on, where's the link?

FloatyBeatie · 19/12/2012 10:40

That is extraordinary. It must have been scary, yes, but it also seems like an enormous privilege. I bet that the child will treasure the recording when s/he is older.

ZZZenAgain · 19/12/2012 10:42

heck

DameMargotFountain · 19/12/2012 10:43

fucking hell Xmas Shock

WowOoo · 19/12/2012 10:43

Good Lord! The dad didn't seem to notice for a moment. I suppose a toddler is prey sized. how scary.

ChestnutsRoastingonaWitchesTit · 19/12/2012 10:44

Lucky baby. No harm done. The lesson is don't leave your baby sat on the grass by itself while there are large predatory animals about. I guess.

Bearandcub · 19/12/2012 10:45

That's why I put mine in high-vis vests when we go to the park, so we can track them in the sky when they get snatched by birds of prey. Wink

ZZZenAgain · 19/12/2012 10:47

why is the dc lucky and why is it an enormous privilege to be grabbed by a bird of prey and then dropped?

slartybartfast · 19/12/2012 10:49

probably a fake. seems there is quite a bit of cyncsism about this

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 19/12/2012 10:50

Hmm, I am not convinced. It is pretty unusual for them to go for anything bigger than a rabbit. Can't watch the video, did toddler happen to be wearing a rabbit skin hat?

Sounds v v unlikely to me.

actually i can't believe it can be a fake. who would orchestrate that Shock

Iheartpasties · 19/12/2012 10:51

surely its not real??

peeriebear · 19/12/2012 10:52

He's lucky because he was too heavy to be carried any higher than about two feet before being dropped!
He will dine out on that story when he's older. "I was THAT kid!"

TheseGoToEleven · 19/12/2012 10:55

I believe it, I have known of eagles that snatched dogs.

SweetMingePie · 19/12/2012 10:56

Wow!

If you watch the video towards the end it is slowed right down and you can see the baby being snatched and then dropped by the bird.

PurpleTinsel · 19/12/2012 10:56
Xmas Shock

Lucky he was too heavy to be carried further!

Piffpaffpoff · 19/12/2012 11:02

I say fake.

flowerytaleofNewYork · 19/12/2012 11:07

I believe it, looks real to me. They take foxes, young deer, lambs, all sorts, equal to their own weight so I totally believe he had a bash at taking a toddler.

25catsnameSam · 19/12/2012 11:27

I cant see how they'd fake it? it's definitely a real bird, and a real child.

slartybartfast · 19/12/2012 11:28

no fake as in a trained bird

slug · 19/12/2012 11:37

The best comment I've heard about this was:

"This all could have been averted if the baby had its own eagle."

Which is both horrible and amusing in equal measures

AlienRefucksLooksLikeSnow · 19/12/2012 11:41

That is frigging AMAZING!! he was obviously too heavy, or it would have carried him off! Shock

Yes, the Mum/Dad seems to take ages to notice?!!
