I think you are right to feel that way. If it is associated with Icke, it probably will receive bad publicity.

margerybruce · 05/11/2012 11:51

Well entirely up to you of course, but they are trying to get out to everyone. Website coming up I think soon.

I am not a DI person really! Just trying to spread the word.

OhBuggerandArse · 05/11/2012 13:38

Cameron's announced an inquiry:

OhBuggerandArse · 05/11/2012 13:39

Sorry, not an inquiry. An investigation - which is much less formal.

Hummingbirds · 05/11/2012 15:28

CFSKate's link is effectively an admission by The Telegraph that the number-one contender on Twitter is the man Newsnight wanted to out.

TunipTheHollowVegemalLantern · 05/11/2012 15:59

You're right Hummingbirds, there's no suggestion in the Telegraph that the tweeters might have got it wrong. They must be pretty sure of their ground to report on the tweets from that angle.

Schlock · 05/11/2012 16:01

Do you think we will see this man arrested because I think that's fairly unlikely. But I don't know, if the name is out there (like John Lesley's name was out there) will the police have any choice but to arrest him?

I'm feeling rather frustrated at the lack of anything happening after the promises of many arrests.

isupposeimabitofafraud · 05/11/2012 16:03

I was under the impression that he no longer lived in the UK. Makes an arrest considerably more difficult if that is the case.

Schlock · 05/11/2012 16:10

Oh. Is he deliberately in a country from which he couldn't be extradited?

LineRunner · 05/11/2012 16:14

Italy, isn't it?

DreamsTurnToGoldDust · 05/11/2012 16:19

Hes in Australia.

LineRunner · 05/11/2012 16:41

Apropos of nothing, I just wanted to say how interesting I found the Wiki entries of both Lord McAlpine and Dreke Laud whilst writing a small essay on the Tory party today.

From Wiki:

"Laud has a wide circle of friends in the Conservative Party. In 2001, he provided an alibi[8] for his friends Neil and Christine Hamilton when they were falsely accused by Nadine Milroy-Sloan of sexual assault.[24]"

I'd forgotten about that.

LineRunner · 05/11/2012 16:42

It's not linking, Mrscrump.

TunipTheHollowVegemalLantern · 05/11/2012 16:47

The link worked for me, it just took a while and came out without the formatting.

DreamsTurnToGoldDust · 05/11/2012 16:52

Yes I read that LineRunner, just dont know what to make about any of it now. I actually thought at the time that they were stitched up, but when I read that..........

Mrcrumpswife · 05/11/2012 16:53

Just in case its still not working..

www.tom-watson.co.uk/2012/11/letter-to-david-cameron-regarding-child-sex-abuse-investigation

I dont see any way in which DC can walk away from this.

TunipTheHollowVegemalLantern · 05/11/2012 16:58

It was a dinner party with more than one guest so I assume Laud wasn't the only alibi. If he was, and if the rumours about him turn out to be true, I shall be more suspicious.

Doobydoo · 05/11/2012 17:08

I know it is early news but are we confident that Cameron is going to appoint the right person/people to investigate all of this?A senior independent figure. It is so difficult. It will prob be a judge but I do not think anyone trusts anyone!

LineRunner · 05/11/2012 17:09

Ok, got the link now, thanks.

clam · 05/11/2012 17:12

"if the name is out there...will the police have any choice but to arrest him?"

But haven't the police known about him for years? And, for whatver reason, done nothing about it?

DreamsTurnToGoldDust · 05/11/2012 17:13

Probably appoint Ken Clarke, Leon Britten or Michael Portillo!

Doobydoo · 05/11/2012 17:18

EEEEEK!
Do you think appointing a woman would make a positive difference or make people trust it all more/

NigellasGuest · 05/11/2012 17:26

doobydoo -
personally I don't think that would make the slightest difference Sad
