I am too fick, I don't have a clue what that double speak is.

Good post Pagwatch.

Unfortunately, as the BBC etc have shown, it has been proved that even us bumbling Brits can keep something dark secret if we're worried about losing our jobs or pensions. It's clear that conspiracies can be kept quiet, by humans. We may be blunderous as you say but we are selfish, greedy and manipulative.

But you are right, to conflate all incidents of abuse with Freemasonry is short-sighted. However, as the Sabvile/Broadmoor/HDLG shows there must have been something more than a bit of greed to keep it from being investigated.

I believe in certain conspiracies, but I can also see that getting too bogged down in them can have a negative effect on victims.

noblegiraffe · 04/11/2012 16:20

Jon Ronson hung around with David Icke for a bit for his book Them: Adventures with Conspiracy Theorists
He tried to uncover what Icke meant by saying lizards ruled the world, whether it was a code word for Jews, the usual New World Order stuff. He came to the conclusion that Icke actually meant lizards when he said lizards.

I think if you want to establish credibility for your theories among the general populace, it's probably best not to get your information via a well-known fruit loop.

And some of the stuff being linked to on this thread is so wackily bonkers that not only will no one be ever sued over it because it is so clearly not worth anyone's brain space, but that it will also turn people off the genuine concerns and evidenced complaints that need to be investigated.

Pagwatch · 04/11/2012 16:21

Yes. I think that is the nub.
I will believe almost anything of people who are protecting their backs. I just don't hold with the notion of an sleek elite with an agenda. Far too James Bond and, as you say, very offensive to ordinary victims.
It isn't a Hollywood blockbuster. This is real life and grim

Claig was right. Sorry if I offended. It's a mess everywhere atm.

Please look up the Overton Window. It refers to the set of policies or discussion points that a politcian can openly raise at any given time. For example, a Tory MP could not start talking about the death penalty today without being called right-wing and reactionary. However, if there was a massacre tomorrow, then the "Overton Window" may include such debates such as capital punishment. Ie, it has become more suitable to discuss in public by a politician because of the outside circumstances. The guy who tweeted on Friday was a junior staff member who happened to be called Overton. Claig's suggesting that this was a cryptic political announcement. Last week would not have been an environment where we are talking about politicians being pedos, but next week we are. We crossed a threshold on Friday and the Overton Window has opened up to include policies and language that may never have been discussed before.

ha3782 · 04/11/2012 16:32

Pagwatch,

If you can compartmentalise your employees into small groups and encourage them to talk about a limited range of subjects then they have no reason to look at how the other compartments are being manipulated. If they have the gumption to realise what's going on, they will be given 3 choices, join in and move up, shut up and get on with your work, or shut up and leave with no pension. Plato's Noble Lie still plays a large part in how the elite think. The higher you go up in management the easier it is to justify because you're privy to more wrong-doing and so your willingness to protect the public from the truth increases exponentially.

It's when people start going on about moon landing, 911 etc that it gets really offencive to those who've been abused. But these things themselves are distraction techniques to stop people researching genuine cover-ups.

Mrcrumpswife · 04/11/2012 16:33

ha3782
That is a very clear way of explaining it all. Do you think this window has been opened on purpose, because we are talking 50 odd years of silence which is what i dont understand. Why now?

MrsjREwing · 04/11/2012 16:39

So Overton tweetungwas doublespeak? Is Bercow doublespeak too?

OP posts:
ha3782 · 04/11/2012 16:41

Mrcrumpswife,

Who knows? It could all be a triple-bluff!! I was just trying to plant the seed that no-one can be trusted. On the face of it I would say that the entire establishment are panicking but the BBC have very few cards up their sleeves. This could be one of them. Why did Overton (a very junior member of staff) make such a Tweet? He's an office junior. Did his boss think people like me would seize on it as a clue and get carried away? Is it a red-herring? It's known political theory so would have attracted attention. There's no doubt that next week the public will be talking about MPs being pedos. They say nothing is a coincedence but maybe intentionally so ;)

So in conclusion, I have no idea :) But I trust neither Icke's forum or the government anymore. I am keeping an I on the DI forum but it's been overrun and I can't work out why. Maybe they need the BBC to think it's been overrun. It's complicated.

Mrcrumpswife · 04/11/2012 16:45

Tom Watson has also just tweeted again saying about the Bridget O donnell book and we could all learn lessons from it.

Its all double speak but he is blatantly pointing people to research corrupt establishment from history which is still happening now.

He seems to be good bloke even if he is crypticConfused

noblegiraffe · 04/11/2012 16:47

The guy who tweeted on Friday was a journalist, the editor of the bureau for investigative journalism, who is genuinely called Iain Overton. He has won awards for his journalism. He does not appear in the slightest to be 'a very junior member of staff'

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iain_Overton

ha3782 · 04/11/2012 16:49

I have my own theories about why it's come out now, but it's too scary for me to comprehend sometimes so I try not to think about it too much.

All I'd say is that this could have come out during the phone-hacking scandal, the Jubilee or the Olympics. But it didn't. Can you imagine seeing that giant baby and the NHS part of the ceremony given we know the government gave him the keys to mentally handicapped childrens wards? Can you imagine waving to the Queen knowing what kind of relationship her family had with Savile? Why did we hear nothing during the phone-hacking scandal? Are we supposed to believe that at no point did any phone messages that were hacked contain reference to Savile? No chance.

So whatever held this back was allowed to be held back by interested parties...

IMO of course. But why trust me? :)

ha3782 · 04/11/2012 16:55

When I said junior, I meant relative to the importance of the information he was publicising. He was essentially outing a senior MP via Twitter. This is not a normal channel. He is a very good and well established journalist but it is not his place to informally state that only the lawyers are stopping him naming a pedo. This is not a normal method of getting such info out to the public, which adds weight to the Window theory.

Mrcrumpswife · 04/11/2012 16:56

IMO of course. But why trust me?

Hey, why not???

I originally thought Mr Murdoch was lashing out because of RB and the demise of NOTW but this is snowballing far bigger than something he can control and doesnt just affect one political party its all of them.

claig · 04/11/2012 16:56

Mrcrumpswife, I don't think what Bercow or Watson tweeted is doublespeak.

noble is right about Overton. He is on the Bureau of Investigation.

The name is all over teh internet from tweeters and bloggers, so I think probably at some point someone in the mainstream will have to mention it too, otherwise the public will wonder what is going on. I thought it might be my favourite newspaper - the Daily Mail - as they often reveal things such as the Stephen Lawrence murderers or the swine flu leaked memo that most of teh other mainstream don't mention, but maybe it won't be them.

MrsJREwing i nearly went off to google what tweetungwas in incase i missed a vital bit of info. Had to laugh when i realised it was a spelling mistakeBlushBlush

I am going to step away from the laptop!

Mrcrumpswife · 04/11/2012 17:02

I want the DM to step it up a bit claig.

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 04/11/2012 17:05

how on earth was Overtoun an office junior? Hmm

leaving this thread now, it's too weird. aliens have invaded.

Pagwatch · 04/11/2012 17:08

Iain Overton is a journalist. He is related by marriage to Nicky Campbell at 5live.

ha3782 · 04/11/2012 17:08

Not sure what Murdoch has. I bet a lot of his bargaining power is from the same pool of dirt that Clifford draws upon. But now he's representing CiN so it all gets complicated.

Leveson/Jill Dando etc will be interesting. I suspect Murdoch's holding tight to see what comes out. Don't forget the coppers knew Jill Dando's phone was hacked but did nothing. It meant they couldn't then add that info to the phone hacking investigation because they'd already omitted it.

ha3782 · 04/11/2012 17:13

I don't think I said office junior :s If I did then I didn't mean to and am typing in a rush. I meant he was junior to Crick and only a member of the team working for Newsnight in this instance. In fact I posted his Wiki up here last night so I know who he is. Either way Tweeting what he did was most unusual. In fact Tweeting that they're about to out a paedo MP unless the lawyers stop them is unheard of.

claig · 04/11/2012 17:17

This is today's Sunday Mail reporting on Savile from articles in the Sunday Miiror and the Sunday Times. It is incredible.

ha3782 · 04/11/2012 17:17

Anyway, I'm out. I'm no alien. Just didn't want people here thinking that everyone on the Icke forum agrees with Icke. We used it because over the last couple of months every other forum has been deleting really useful info and threads and the Icke one was the only one not being taken down. It was really useful. Now the story's public it's attracted nutters. But please bear in mind that we are capable of believing in a massive cover up of child abuse but not believing the Lizard stuff.

noblegiraffe · 04/11/2012 17:33

Perhaps the award-winning investigative journalist Overton tweeted about the programme because he thought the BBC might bottle it and pull the programme he had worked hard on and thought was very important, instead of just partially bottling it and not naming names.

Or perhaps the Newsnight team thought 'shit, we need someone called Overton to make a tweet so that a link can be made to an obscure political term to fuel theories on the Internet about parliamentary discussions, oh, Overton, thank fuck you're here, are you on Twitter?'
