Ian Brady reveals location of Keith's body

Greater Manchester police believe that he has revealed the location to a woman who has been visiting him in Ashworth Hospital:

Hope they can find him and it's not just Brady messing with everyone again.

I really hope they find a body and are able to provide his mother with some closure. I very much doubt after so long it will happen though

I don't think he even knows where the body is, the moors have shifted over the years, I think it will be too hard to find. Imo Brady is just using Keith's body as a power trip. Poor Winnie.

Poor woman

That poor, poor woman has been through this for years. This is not the first time - I think it was Hindley last time. This is one of my earliest memories from watching the news in the 70s - just how often (relatively) there was a chance that this poor little boy's body would/could be found.

There's a bloody great motorway (M62) over a big chunk of Saddleworth Moor now along with natural movement of the moors. I think it's unlikely that Brady could define the location but I hope that he has. Unfortunately, this is likely to be yet another power trip by Brady. If he wanted to reveal the location (if he even knows it) he could have done that years and years ago.

I feel so sorry for Keith's mum. She has suffered enough. It would be great if they really could find him so she can have the burial she deserves.

That poor woman. I hope Brady can tell her, although like others I doubt he can - he was meant to be moving to a secure hospital in Scotland, so I dont know if this was a condition of his move??

I too, feel for Keith's mother I cannot imagine how it must feel to be denied the chance to give your child a decent human burial. I hope to high heaven that they find him but in reality I think it's nigh on impossible now.

I do hope they find the body, so his mother can bury him. I read an interview with her in The Guardian some time ago, and it was heartbreaking. Saddleworth Moor is peat moorland, so the body may not be too badly decayed if they find him.

Two I completely agree with you and he has been aided and abetted by the police and the prison authorities. I read that he had been allowed to write to her too (and complained to her about his treatment in prison) which is absolutely dreadful.

According to the report I heard his legal advocate possess a sealed letter from Brady allegedly containing the location. She has been his legal advocate since 1999 and I got the impression from the radio report that she had had the letter in her possession for some years.

I hope to God that this is good news.

The news is also reporting that Brady has been hospitalised after a seizure.

If he had been hospitalised, they will mean a general hospital, as opposed to the psychiatric one, he is residing in.

He is devoid of Empathy he won't tell her, its a game for him.

that's what I don't get - why is he playing cat and mouse with this one woman? Is it because it's the last bit of control he has? Or does she represent something to him, that he cannot let go - or what.

Perhaps it is because she wants it so much. It sounds like they are locked in some kind of battle of wills. I wonder if her having a dialogue with him years ago was a good idea.

I agree he is an evil man, and I don't say that lightly. Neither of them ever seemed to have any true remorse or concept of the evil of their actions, and every move either of them made seemed to be purely motivated by self-interest.

If it's true that the letter specified that it shouldn't be opened until after his death then it could be that he does know where the body is and he's using it as a bargaining chip so that he is allowed to die.

Whatever his reasons, I hope that Keith's body is found; his mother deserves some closure.

I hope the lady gets some closure & gets to see her son have a decent burial before she dies. I have a feeling nothing will come of this as Bradey is a nasty creature who seems to feed from his victims families hurt

This is going to be very un pc but the evil of h and b is so severe that I think they should have been properly tortured years ago until they gave up the location.
