Father and Mother of 6 children killed in fire are arrested over Murder

Breaking news is that Mr and Mrs Philpott have been arrested for the murder of their six children. I cannot believe this has happened. I pray that a mistake has been made. RIP children.

They will in due course enter a plea.

They may plead 'not guilty' in which cse there will be a trial.

If they plead 'guilty' there would be no trial, just a hearing for sentencing. There is another possibility, which is that they might plead not guilty to murder but guilty to manslaughter. This is what happened in the Joanna Yeates case - however the manslaughter plea was not accepted, so there was a trial.

I think the preliminary hearing is June 18th or 19th.
