Breaking news is that Mr and Mrs Philpott have been arrested for the murder of their six children. I cannot believe this has happened. I pray that a mistake has been made. RIP children.

I want to clarify my post "hope the police are wrong" what I meant is that it's unbelievable to me that a parent could be so evil or just downright stupid to do such a thing.

I obviously know that it can and does happen but it still shocks me. I'm one of those try and see the good in everybody/2 sides to a story type people.

Those poor children and the poor kids led behind. Awful. Sad

the whole thing is just horrendous :0(

They've been charged now, apparently.

Nancy66 · 31/05/2012 10:39

They were charged yesterday evening - what do you think people are talking about?

Will the parents be allowed to attend their children's funerals? I am presuming not, for their own safety. Sad

Birdsgottafly · 31/05/2012 11:14

"They were charged yesterday evening - what do you think people are talking about"

The actual charges, if any that they will be found guilty of.

The reasoning/defense behind their actions.

Some are expressing their shock that people act in these ways, we don't all live/mix in the circles.

Nancy66 · 31/05/2012 11:18

Birds - my posting was a response to Hackmum who was posting the charges as though it was new information rather than a day old

According to BBC news, they have been remanded and will be in court at Nottingham crown court tomorrow.

2 people were ejected during the 10 minute hearing this morning for shouting abuse so I guess it wasn't a closed court afterall.

topknob · 31/05/2012 11:40

Remanded in custody and in court again on friday...can't help thinking that is for their own safety as well as the crime .

Olympia2012 · 31/05/2012 11:40

What usually happens at crown court?

starmaker7 · 31/05/2012 11:53

crown court has judges and is used for more serious crimes .The will probably be charged and remanded to a further date

www.direct.gov.uk/en/CrimeJusticeAndTheLaw/Goingtocourt/DG_196034 this explains the differences between courts

Babylon1 · 31/05/2012 11:56

I agree topknob I think it is as much for their own safety as for the seriousness of the offence of which they are charged.

Is it usual for a case to be heard that quickly ie Magistrates Court today and Crown court tomorrow??

Confused

I'd be interested to know what word he mouthed twice at the police officers. The officers who have been working day and night to help solve this heinous crime Sad
