Poor, poor baby's body found in Lincolnshire.

I just heard on the news about a 6 month old baby whose body has been found at a recycling plant.
My heart goes out and I am crying now. I have a DD only just over that age.

They are appealing for the parents to come forward.
So, so, so very sad. Sad

Awful, isn't it? I mean, it's obviously utterly terrible when something bad happens to a newborn, but at 6 months they're such people...oh, it's horrible to think of. And the poor folk who found it.

pookamoo · 02/05/2012 21:34

You would never get over finding something like that.

Surely someone would notice that a 6 month old had gone missing. Or you would think so. But then maybe the family isn't lucky enough to live in a place with neighbours, friends etc.
It made me feel sick when I heard it. I had to go and kiss my own DDs. Whatever happened, the poor thing and the poor mother, she will need help.

I was sad to hear about this too. My DSs got an extra hug this evening. To be thrown away with the rubbish...poor little thing. And also very awful for the worker who found him/her.
Surely someone would notice that a baby of that age suddenly wasn't around any more...

Birdsgottafly · 02/05/2012 23:58

But then there have been threads on here were a poster is asking if she should contact someone because she hasn't seen the baby/toddler for a while and there seems to be chaotic behaviour happening at the house.

Posters very much tell them to MTOB. People can't seem to comprehend that child abusers/neglectors are people just like them or their neighbours.

Oh how sad

ripsishere · 03/05/2012 08:21

I read it as a newsflash yesterday and assumed it was a newborn.
Very sad that he was six months old. Not sadder of course, but bloody hell.

queenrollo · 03/05/2012 08:27

This is the second time this has happened in Lincolnshire. There was a newborn baby discovered in 2009 and the mother was never traced as far as I know.
It's terribly sad.

crazynanna · 03/05/2012 08:32

I don't know how accurate this morning's news reports' are,but the BBC has said a "distressed teenager" has come forward, and apparently local news says the baby is now thought to be a new born.

ripsishere · 03/05/2012 08:45

Hope she gets the help she needs.
RIP baby.

Codandchops · 03/05/2012 08:55

Hope she gets the support she needs - poor girl and poor baby Sad

2shoes · 03/05/2012 08:59

so terrible, feel so sorry for the person who found the child.
hope they find the parents, to do this you have to be some kind of sicko

ZZZenAgain · 03/05/2012 09:01

the mother seems to be a teenage girl 2shoes

crazynanna · 03/05/2012 09:05

A little more here

BrianButterfield · 03/05/2012 09:31

It's still terribly sad but it makes a little more sense if it's a newborn baby. Poor little thing.

BrianButterfield · 03/05/2012 09:32

And 2shoes, a distressed teenage girl doesn't sound like a 'sicko' to me. She must have been in an awful place for something like this to happen. It's sadly far from unusual.

SardineQueen · 03/05/2012 09:37

"But then there have been threads on here were a poster is asking if she should contact someone because she hasn't seen the baby/toddler for a while and there seems to be chaotic behaviour happening at the house. Posters very much tell them to MTOB."

Where.

Voidka · 03/05/2012 09:38

There is a lot of difference between a newborn and a 6mo.

TheRhubarb · 03/05/2012 09:42

Thrown out with the rubbish? That is just awful, truly awful.

We don't know the circumstances but the mother's boyfriend could have done it, or a friend that she trusted to hide the body.
I just hope the poor little mite was dead before it was dumped so callously. Sad

Olympia2012 · 03/05/2012 09:46

I think it's more likely she had kept her pregnancy a secret.... No medical care..... And died maybe during or shortly after birth.

duchesse · 03/05/2012 09:57

Just a thought but if the baby is a newborn thought at first glance to be a 6mo, there is a chance it was a very large newborn that in an unassisted birth from teenaged mother it may not have survived the birth process and might therefore have been a stillbirth anyway. Pure conjecture of course.

If so, I can only feel sorry for the poor poor girl- her bits must be a total mess. No wonder she needs medical attention. And she will need a lot of therapy to overcome this.

TheRhubarb · 03/05/2012 10:02

She phoned the police in tears. So that makes me think that she never intended for the baby to be put out with the rubbish. Someone drove to a recycling skip and put that baby in there - the company deals with commercial waste only. She wouldn't have been in any fit state to do that so I hope they catch the callous bastard who dumped that poor baby. I hope she tells them who did it. Can they be jailed for that? Even if the baby was already dead?

RabidAnchovy · 03/05/2012 10:14

Poor baby Sad and the poor person who found the baby Sad Sad
What a terrible thing to do, to throw a baby out with the rubbish, whatever the circumstances it is an evil thing to do

Shakey1500 · 03/05/2012 10:18

Oh this is desperatly sad :(

Tanith · 03/05/2012 12:21

Just a child herself, poor girl Sad

How awful that, in this day and age, young girls still feel they must hide unwanted pregnancies.
