What were Preston Crown Court playing at today when they deemed it acceptable to let this pair of sadists off so lightly?

I know the stats and everything, and I see the blank faces of these people but I just cannot see into the minds of anyone who could do this. I remember being a brand new mother with all three of my children and sometimes being so so exhausted I almost wanted to just throw them out of the window or make them stop - I'm sure the majority of mums who have had no sleep, have PND, or who are just so befuddled can 'get' that, but systematic, sustained, planned abuse...I just do not know what on earth can have happened in these peoples lives that actually makes them feel ok about this. is it me? Am I so innocent?

This kind of abuse isn't about losing control when you're at the end of your tether with no sleep and a million loads of washing to do - this kind of abuse is about maintaining control so they can make someone else feel the hatred they feel for themselves. These people won't respond to punishment and certainly 2.5 years in prison will just be a short holiday for them.

That's why this sentence is not only unduly lenient, it's a waste of taxpayers money.

Thank you for your email to the Attorney General's Office regarding the sentences received by Mohammed & Nafisa Karolia.
We have requested further information about the case from the Crown Prosecution Service so that the Law Officers can consider whether the sentences should be referred to the Court of Appeal for review.
