...and hes only a year older than me, which makes me feel really old.

He was at Oxford at the same time as I was. (I didn't know him)
apparently he was in the Bullingdon - that set was pretty scary, and they had a short way with proles who happened to cross their path.

The only member of his current group, according to the BBC, that I know personally, is Michael Gove. Suffice to say I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MOYNIHAN PLATE.

dont think Ill ever vote for Cameron.

fwiw i think this gives them a real chance of getting in next time.

never voted conservative in my life but i sort of like him...he is crap at fielding awkward questions and more often than not drops himself in it....refreshingly human.

also am v v pleased as we desperately desperately need a proper opposition...that's good for everyone

Nightynight · 06/12/2005 19:19

Nightynight - at least he's not a tab!

Heathcliffscathy · 06/12/2005 19:19

love that he admits to doing drugs (for it's honesty and for the fact that most people that went to uni have and what do they think we are...stooopid?) and love that it didn't put of blue rinse brigade

imo he only admits drugs cos it looks stupid not to to anyone from our generation. bet they had a long meeting discussing it before he went on air with it in his refreshingly honest way.

Nightynight · 06/12/2005 19:24

nope fisil - youve lost me - the only tabs Ive ever heard of are e - not that Ive ever taken one

OP posts:
fisiltoe · 06/12/2005 19:25

Oxford speak - we called those who attended the Fenland Poly "tabs".

fisiltoe · 06/12/2005 19:25

Oh, and obviously by Fenland Poly I mean Cambridge.

Nightynight · 06/12/2005 19:31

lol I know that one!

SenoraPostrophe · 06/12/2005 19:33

I think it's great.

it's about time we had a smarmy git for a pm who pretends to be "one of us".

PruniStuffing · 06/12/2005 19:40

SP

noddyholder · 06/12/2005 19:41

I think its curtains for new labour!

Glitterygook · 06/12/2005 19:41

Let's hope so.

MistleToo · 06/12/2005 19:49

I think it's marvellous

what gets me currently is how everyone has not stopped whinging about TB - well it ain't 5 minutes since you voted him back in, so you got what you wanted. What's worse is that slime ball Brown is waiting in the wings - now there's a guy with something of the night about him

Ooooops that was meant to be from me

SenoraPostrophe · 06/12/2005 20:09

mistletoo - I think you'll find those of us whinging about blair are not the ones who voted for him.

and real opposition my arse. cameron agrees with pretty much everything that I hate about Blair's policies.

Nightynight · 06/12/2005 20:16

he he senora

He pretends to be the new, caring face of the Tories but in fact, he's just the same. Showed his true colours when he made some very bitchy remarks about the Labour MPs who rebelled on terrorism, calling decent people like Frank Dobson unrecostructed dinosaurs and scoffing at the idea that he'd ever be on the same side as them on an issue.

Hyena in labrador's clothing, IMO.

Epiffany · 06/12/2005 20:30

I like him
But I would kiss a baboons arse than vote for a Tory and that's saying something
I just can't can't can't can't.

ItllBeLonelymumThisChristmas · 06/12/2005 20:35

I had no idea of his age but looked it up after NN's first comment about him being only a year older than her. OMG, he is younger than me! This is the first time in my life a leader of a political party has been younger than me. Is that a sign I am now officially old?

Heathcliffscathy · 06/12/2005 20:36

sp, if the conservatives take a more centrist stance it will force labour left where they should be imo...
