LisMcA · 19/07/2011 15:11

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned already on the thread, but I was listening to radio 2 today and Jeremy Vine referred to today as the Murdochalypse! Made me :o!

thederkinsdame · 19/07/2011 15:12

a pleasure teej

teejwood · 19/07/2011 15:12

schedenfreudegasm is my new favourite word out of this whole thing, but numptinational definately gets the word of the day award Grin

BornSicky · 19/07/2011 15:12

mid sentence realisation he was wandering off script.... quick save. oh mr murdoch jnr

mrsdonkeybucket · 19/07/2011 15:13

OOh, that's good ! Hi Lis ! Smile

Murdochalypse

Miffster · 19/07/2011 15:14

Also loving 'fuckastrophe'

BornSicky · 19/07/2011 15:15

numptinational is new word of the day.

also like Murdochalypse

mrsdonkeybucket · 19/07/2011 15:15

That's good too.

mrsdonkeybucket · 19/07/2011 15:15

Numptinational : any business run by an octogenarian ?

Terribletriplets · 19/07/2011 15:16

'The most humble day of my life'
Thereby providing the redtops with tomorrow's headline. Cynical.

Important to wee now, before RB.

MoreBeta · 19/07/2011 15:18

To be fair, I do not and would not expect a person who runs a major multinational to know what relatively low level employees were doing on a day to day basis in one very small part of the company. They leave the operational management to the people they appoint.

It is the operational people on the ground that can and should be answering questions.

mrsdonkeybucket · 19/07/2011 15:18

Please take note, it is not phone hacking, it's voicemail interception. Hmm

Does he keep saying it because he thinks it doesn't sound as bad ?

teejwood · 19/07/2011 15:19
Terribletriplets · 19/07/2011 15:20

@BB, that is why it is important to wee before RB comes on. Agree.
(Hits table, for random impression of integrity)

mrsdonkeybucket · 19/07/2011 15:20

Yes, TT that is her.

hammybobs · 19/07/2011 15:21

Gruff, heavy scottish accent got in the way of sheridan's q's. I can have a gruff, heavy scottish accent when I want but if I was questioning Murdoch I'd have polished up my telephone voice a bit more Grin

reelingintheyears · 19/07/2011 15:22

James Murdoch is pretty scary looking.

A young Heinrich Himmler.

mrsdonkeybucket · 19/07/2011 15:23

Ooh, it comes to money and the old fool wakes up. Most coherent sentence he has said.

Terribletriplets · 19/07/2011 15:23

She should sit up and stop being a fidget. Thanks MDB :)

I wonder if babbling Brooks will sit behind RB.

franke · 19/07/2011 15:24

They're drinking out of plastic cups ffs. Can't the select committee afford better?

mrsdonkeybucket · 19/07/2011 15:24

Welcome !

I should think they will leave ?

teejwood · 19/07/2011 15:25

morebeta sorry don't buy the ignorance is bliss theory here.
a) according to legend, RM sits in on editorial meetings in London on a regular basis.

b) the stories about settlements etc were in the media - which is his business. he is likely to flick through the press on a daily basis to make sure his empire has its share of the big stories of the day
c) senior execs in that sort of position tend to be given a roundup of media coverage because they don't have much time - it would ordinarily cover main stories about the organisation, competitors, market environment.

as i said, i just don't buy it.

mrsdonkeybucket · 19/07/2011 15:25

franke

What's wrong with plastic cups ? It's all the cuts, you know, it affects everyone.

We are all in this together.

I love that sentence !

BornSicky · 19/07/2011 15:25

morebeta I would expect him to know, given it's now become the subject of a major criminal investigation.

Prior to that, maybe not, but seems he's applying total denial as a defence, when he should have found out by now.
