WhipMeIndiana · 19/07/2011 15:02

WOAH. rupes wife is the sexy chick in the pink jacket??

chipstick10 · 19/07/2011 15:03

I agree LisaMcA at the end of the day he is 80 and is probably struggling to hear as well. I feel a bit sad.

hammybobs · 19/07/2011 15:04

Ooh, 'with respect to you (JM) I will pursue my line of questioning'

The knowing smirk on Tom Watson's face as he ploughs through his questions says it all. The 'fit and proper' person test - would RM pass, given that he is so unaware of what has been going on with NI/NC for so long?

TheRealMBJ · 19/07/2011 15:04

I am being prevented from watching by a 19 month old who is insisting on Bob the Builder AngryGrin

Miffster · 19/07/2011 15:05

Watson on fire: 'it's revealing what you don't know when you're responsible for corporate governance'

won't let Murdoch snr off hook

impression is of someone who wasn't and isn't on top of what's going on in his empire, despite previously saying he is onto all the details

teejwood · 19/07/2011 15:05

oh is wendi there?
yes - the poor old dear needed a young chinese wife. which may or may not have helped him with his china ambitions for the Murdoch empire
80 or not, he's not a poor confused vulnerable old dear...

ReshapeWhileDamp · 19/07/2011 15:05

stranded - if it makes it any better, we (a mum friend and myself) are watching with the subtitles on, because we can't hear a word over the sound of one baby, one toddler and two three yos. Hmm Wish I had a cellar I could banish them all to...

mrsdonkeybucket · 19/07/2011 15:05

Born

Oh, this is a complete double act ! Doddery ol' Dad doesn't really understand what he's doing there, or why.

Good Son James wants to speak for Dad but nasty Tom (yay !) wont let him ! How many times has Tom effectively told James to shut up ?!

MoreBeta · 19/07/2011 15:05

strandednomore - I can sit listening to Parliament because its my job.

Well someone has to. Grin

thederkinsdame · 19/07/2011 15:06

What Pin0t said.

He's the head of a numptinational company, not a confused pensioner who can't find his bus fare.

thederkinsdame · 19/07/2011 15:06

multinational not numptinational Blush

teejwood · 19/07/2011 15:06

"i just did what i was told" ROFL. as if.

noddyholder · 19/07/2011 15:07

He does not deserve sympathy It is an act. If you read any info about him he is known to be sharp as a tack still! He is hoping for the same pity that old war criminals and the like seem to garner with their doddery old man act.

HedleyLamarr · 19/07/2011 15:07

Rupert just said he was asked to go to the back door of No10. Oops. Smile

Pin0t · 19/07/2011 15:07

He's a wily bastard.

Weak and confused until he gets stroppy and slaps the desk.

Angry
teejwood · 19/07/2011 15:07

"numptinational" Grin
that's what RM is trying to make us think, though, eh?

Pin0t · 19/07/2011 15:08

agree 100% noddy great comment

mrsdonkeybucket · 19/07/2011 15:09

Hey, Pinot !

Agree, he is a wily bastard.

What is with the desk slapping ?

Funny he doesn't remember certain things but remembers using the back door with previous Tory govts, eg, Thatcher !

WhipMeIndiana · 19/07/2011 15:09

oooh bingo 'FBI'

flippinada · 19/07/2011 15:09

I don't feel sorry for him at all.

I expect he is counting on all this poor old RM nonsense. Plenty of 80 year olds are fully compos mentis.

Remember he will have access to the absolute best healthcare money can provide...he was jogging round Hyde Park with a personal trainer FFS. Hardly decrepit.

Miffster · 19/07/2011 15:09

If rupert knows all the detail and didn't act he's culpable and if he didn't he's vulnerable to being offed as head of his own organisation...

Schadenfreudegasm

:D

frillyflower · 19/07/2011 15:09

Yes Rupert is Wendi's second ancient husband

hammybobs · 19/07/2011 15:10

DC dodged a bullet there with the 'and GB too' inviting him to visit via the back door.

claig · 19/07/2011 15:10

Tom Watson was excellent, but this next questioner, Sheridan, is not good at all. Going through the backdoor etc.

mrsdonkeybucket · 19/07/2011 15:10

Agree, also, noddy

Don't be fooled, people.

I could smack James one. I think they thought they could do a double act and answer questions together.....like when James said they wished to make a statement and were told they could at the end.

Poor loves, they must be finding it very hard going not getting everything go their way.
