This is one of those stories that I just cannot get out of my head - it is just unbearably sad.
How is that lovely young man - her new husband - even standing up is beyond me. So dignified - and her family such beautiful decent people.
It could not be a sadder story if you tried - I even read today that her husband usually did all the fetching and carrying - a real gentleman - and had insisted he would go and get her biscuits but she said no - you have run after me enough and insisted she went herself
. I mean how different could the outcome had been - a 6ft strong sportsman walking in on them instead of that poor girl.
It makes us all realise how fickle happiness and fortune is - from fairytale to tragedy in a few moments. I think many people like myself will gain a heightened sense of perspective - I've phoned a relative this week whom I had a petty family type squabble with weeks ago after reading about this and made my peace. You never know whats round the corner.
RIP Michaela.
