Am no fan of Sarah Palin, and the image of a gun target in hindsight is beyond grotesque, but don't think that Sarah Palin would endorse this. Along the same lines that the man who shot President Reagan was doing it to get attention from Jodie Foster.

Let's not forget this appearance, at a Safeway supermarket on a sunny day, would likely have a lot of families and children in attendance.

Very fucked up, especially fucked up in the light of the Sarah Palin/ cross hairs thing. Obviously goes without saying that I'm sure she has absolutely nothing to do with these murders personally, but the crosshairs picture was frankly sick, even if it hadn't been for the awful events of today.

Arizona is one the states where you're allowed to carry a sidearm, so long as it's not concealed. Palin's gang have been whipping up hysteria for months and some unhinged, tooled-up moron was bound to take the bait.

Particularly sad that a 9 year-old girl was among the victims.

I think Palin lives in Arizona now (moved down there from Alaska to have a crack at the presidency). Happened in her patch.

Sky showed a press conference from the hospital. 5 dead at the scene, 1 died at the hospital. 5 in a critical condition (including the senator) and a furthe 5 in theatre.

No firm information yet on why the gunman did it.
