In public?!

Saw a woman reading it on the train today and it looked...odd.

you guardianista you!

I would read it if it was left on the train and I had nothing else to read but I wouldn't buy it

tarantula · 22/09/2005 10:04

I prefer the Beano myself

noddyholder · 22/09/2005 10:04

Would never buy it but look at the website Cheaper than buying hello etc

hunkermunker · 22/09/2005 10:04

I don't really read one particular paper regularly (except Metro...and that's because it's free on the Tube ).

colditz · 22/09/2005 10:05

Of course I would, I'm not a snob! I don't care what people think of my reading matter, if they would judge me on the newspaper I have in my hand, I don't want to talk to them anyway

foxinsocks · 22/09/2005 10:06

no nor do I (and apparently that is becoming more common - people used to be very loyal to a certain paper and it appears that is waning)

SherlockLGJ · 22/09/2005 10:06

Good Lord NO

The very idea.

foxinsocks · 22/09/2005 10:06

nor do I buy any particular paper I meant

oliveoil · 22/09/2005 10:08

I would rather read the Sun than the Guardian.

noddyholder · 22/09/2005 10:09

olive you are naughty

colditz · 22/09/2005 10:09

would much rather read the Sun than the Mail too.

Overt as opposed to covert

hunkermunker · 22/09/2005 10:10

Hmm, yes, think I agree with you there, Colditz!

OP posts:
compo · 22/09/2005 10:11

I regularly read it. Why not? I wouldn't be ashamed to read it on the trian either.

Moomin · 22/09/2005 10:11

100% agree about sun vs mail

Janh · 22/09/2005 10:13

I read it online, but they do teasers for the most gripping (ahem) stories and save the best bits for the paper, miserable gits (so I have to read those in the supermarket )

foxinsocks · 22/09/2005 10:14

I love reading the Mail when it's left around - it's so sensationalist that it actually makes me laugh. It's great fun to see how far you can get into the paper before being warned that you are about to die from using deodorant/eating lettuce/letting your kids have red smarties etc.

bundle · 22/09/2005 10:16

saw a free paperback with The Times this morning, but couldn't persuade myself to buy it

oliveoil · 22/09/2005 10:17

Times is fab, bundle, you maaaaad woman. Get back to the Moss thread.

Janh · 22/09/2005 10:18

It's That Man though, oo.

oliveoil · 22/09/2005 10:18

What MAN?

LadyTophamHatt · 22/09/2005 10:18

I do online.

Only ever buy it daily on holiday, but we Ds1 down to the camp site shop to buy it

Janh · 22/09/2005 10:19

Murdoch.

Mum2girls · 22/09/2005 10:20

no.

oliveoil · 22/09/2005 10:21

Is he a baaaaaaad man? I still like The Times though, especially T2 for fashion stuff and recipes.

zippitippitoes · 22/09/2005 10:22

If it's lying around, but it only takes a couple of minutes so word for word that I'm interested in represents poor value
