Has anyone seen the young Tories in the crowd/being interviewed?

I thought William Hague at 16 was bad

ilovemydog, you do realise that JFK was a pretty ineffectual president, despite being cute and a good public speaker? Read up on the Cuban Missile Crisis lately?..

Riven- did you really, I remember you meeting him. you are my hero if you did
Pontificating wanker!

ilovemydogandMrObama - Still the same message though whether you want to see it that way or not. Kennedy had a less cynical audience of course. But lots of similarities really - although the Kennedy's wealth would make the Camerons look pretty needy.

My darling neighbour, who I like a lot, has long been a Tory activist. Yesterday he admitted to me that he's just gone and resigned his membership of the Conservative Party.

I think it had something to do with being a higher tax rate payer (but only just, having been out of work for 7 months and using up most of his savings as a result), with a wife who's just graduated and can't find work, and a small child. The imminent loss of the much needed Child Benefit opened his eyes to the consequences of Conservative Party ideology.

Poor boy, he's in mourning for his lost ideals Wink

there are plenty of Tories on mumsnet...but it is very difficult to defend your party when they are in power.

you can spot the Tories here by their opinions.

BBC phone in presenters are NOT allowed to state their political party sympathies but you can rumble them by their views.

I'm a Labour voter but I don't get all this hostility towards the big society from labour voters and supporters. The idea of everyone giving up a little bit of time to help their community is a very positive one in my opinion.
Regarding the deficit we would have made cuts too although they wouldn't have been as much as we were only going to halve the deficit in the next Parliament but they would still have happened. I think Miliband needs to seriously up his game and deal with the facts of the time we're in as at the moment I fear we appear deluded and uncredible as a potential party for Government.
