That is utterly unbelievable, kitty!! I am utterly gobsmacked.

TwoIfBySea · 23/07/2010 21:17

"Men" like "little girls"...really? If they didn't think these shows were perverse before then they are now.

cocolepew · 23/07/2010 21:19

Good grief

Meglet · 23/07/2010 21:20

No. No. No. No. No.

differentID · 23/07/2010 21:30

Bloody hell. How come this hasn't yet been flagged as a potential for abuse?

MoonUnitAlpha · 23/07/2010 21:32

Hideous.

Hate that implication that all adult women wax, so you're saving your daughter from the inevitable waxing as a grown up.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 23/07/2010 21:32

I am appalled. Is this real? I really hope not!

NotAgainIHope · 23/07/2010 21:35

Angry Angry Angry

blametheparents · 23/07/2010 21:36
  • That is shocking.

But (dare I say it) I wish I'd had it done on my underarm hair, d'you reckon same thing would apply? ie - It wouldn't grow back

wukter · 23/07/2010 21:42

Don't like some of those comments either.

whomovedmychocolate · 23/07/2010 21:50

As an adult, you can choose electrolysis to permanently remove hair but to do this to a child is abuse IMO. Not to mention making the child bloody sore and neurotic about perfectly natural bodily changes.

LynetteScavo · 23/07/2010 21:55

So if I'd started waxing, rather than shaving as a teenager, I would now be totally hair free?

I don't believe it!

Next there will be genetic modification so that females can be born with hair follicles only on their heads.

euwwwwwwwwwwwww

um, what happens when they grow up if they then decide that actually they would rather have some hair there? (or are they just doing the edges)

BuzzingNoise · 24/07/2010 08:00

Oh my god.
Pubes 'must be torn out by the roots if you don't want the other girls to laugh at you!' WHAT! No-one has ever laughed at my pubes, especially when I was 9 years old.
Shocking.

HowsTheSerenity · 24/07/2010 08:01

This has been around for a while. I remember reading about it in one of those heat/chat/trash magazines.

Why in gods name would you inflict waxing on a 9 year old. Hell I try to avoid it as much as I can as a 30 year old.

nooka · 24/07/2010 08:01

Looks like the girls in question are in a beauty parade though, so might well have parents who would do this. The beauty pageant stuff is very much about early and inappropriate sexualisation of young girls, so I think is quite a relevant reference.

jodevizes · 24/07/2010 11:40

This is on a par to genital mutilation. How dare these mothers do this barbaric thing to someone who cannot make an informed decision.

As for that advert, it should be reported to the advertising standards. If I were a man I would sue them for defamation.

When I see something like this, I feel that we are at the same place as the beginning of the fall of the Roman Empire.

So sad.

Kaloki · 24/07/2010 13:23

That's just not right

wastingaway · 24/07/2010 13:29

[angry[

Poor little things.

TheCrackFox · 24/07/2010 13:29

Just sick. What sort of pervert came up with this idea?

AhickeyfromKenickie · 24/07/2010 16:00

I have no words.
Seriously, this is so fucking disturbing there's no way I can write a half-way intelligent sentence, I'm that angry.
What are these mothers thinking?
They're just babies, they have nothing there to wax, and even if they were early developers and did have pubic hair, who the fuck are they waxing it for????

slouchingtowardswaitrose · 24/07/2010 21:48

I am not disturbed by this in the least.

I wish to God my mother had taken me for virgin waxing. I'm quite hairy and it really bothers me. If I had been able to wax my legs, bikini line and underarms 6 times age 9, my entire life would have been different, in terms of activities, self-confidence, etc.

Flame away. I've already had this debate on another board. I stick to my opinion.

I'm not talking about a Brazilian, I'm just talking about waxing so one can wear a swimsuit without major depilation first.

Oh and anyone who starts spouting shite about how society should change so that pubic hair way down the inner thigh should be acceptable, and girls who have it should love themselves no matter what, fuck off. And I mean that in the nicest way. You just do not understand hirsutism unless you have it.

Vermdum · 25/07/2010 00:13

People do much more stupid things to themselves and their children on a daily basis that have hair removed from them.

Im not really sure where i stand with this, but im not THAT annoyed. If the children are being pressured into this by parents, than its a different matter.
