Driving Lesson now - feeling nervous although have been driving for 6 years
will I remember the clutch?

thanks for yest advice, also bearing in mind all the people around who have been ill, are ill and will be ill, so that is in some curious way comforting.

In Greek mythology, the white-robed Moirae or Moerae ( the Three Fates) were the personifications of destiny They controlled the fate of every mortal and immortal from birth to death (and beyond).

The three Moirae were Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos. See you learn something everyday. I need to go out and appease them now with hard work!

Driving lesson over -he said I needed 14 lessons to get to test standard as I was very over cautious and nervous. But at least it is a start. He told me to drive the children everywhere and stop walking

OP posts:
swanriver · 25/06/2010 12:41

swanriver · 25/06/2010 12:50

Nutty - bed wetting is normal, don't fret.
Boring I know but normal. Dd completely stopped at 5, and never did it again, ds2 occasionally wets and can't be trusted.

OFM thanks for thoughtful words,

have also been chasing dr about ds2 possible aspie tendencies, handflapping etc (school was the one who initiated this not me..) referral bounced back by pysch (without even seeing him) now dr has gone back to beginning again and got pysch to send checklist to me and school...so at least there's momentum on that one, wherever it may lead us [ho hum]
Saw dr in March about ds2, it has taken this long.

Upstairs tidyish, lots of decluttering.

just popping in to say hi. Not in a very good mood at the moment - work related so I'm afraid I haven't really felt like posting but hopefully I will be back soon. In the meantime can you all please pray for an election!

wendyhappysmile · 25/06/2010 19:53

Hi all
Take care Wolf What have elections got to do with anything?! Just be kind to yourself.
swan hope all is well, sounds irritating the situation with the psych. My DS is a hand flapper and panicker etc and loves numbers etc, a control freak to the extreme but he is slowly improving ... that doesn't help you though, just hope you get an appt soon. Party in London sounds totally fab ... nowt like that up 'ere in't North LOL
OFM tell us details of your job!
Nutty I liked the reminder about the Greek mythology - I did a year at university on a course called Classical Literature and I LOVED it but my memory is sketchy now!

Been to work
Made veggie sausage, Yorshires, mash, home made veggie gravy and veg - got the sausages for 25p a pack from reduced section at Coop and all the family were cheering at the choice of tea! LOL They are easily pleased.

had a manic afternoon after work - Sainsbury's, swimming lesson sort out at the gym - took 45 minutes of me basically doing their jobs and remaining calm at the same time
Then into town, round the market etc for a few bits I needed

Bought myself a gorgeous blue and cream double head type fuschia - I LOVE these plants! Can't resist, have several. And a mint plant. Have a herb planter to sort out this weekend, but have a busy time tomorrow.

BB later

wendyhappysmile · 25/06/2010 19:54

The shame, this Yorkshire girl can't even spell Yorkshire pudding correctly!

wendyhappysmile · 25/06/2010 20:53

OFM If you are listening, the book club are desperate for their books - do you have some to post? if so, could you post them on without worrying about reading them, please? Sorry just passing on the message!

MickyLee · 26/06/2010 08:23

Sounds like loads has happened since i have last read the thread.

swan Kind thoughts to you and your DH
wendy dinner sounded nice yummy!

I won't be flying sadly for 6 weeks as i fell down the stairs and Friday night and broke my foot.. it is now in plaster to my knee!

My mum got on the first flight and now here to take over.. i can't get anywhere fast or carry anything while using the crutches. I never thought i would say this but it is so hard just sitting with my feet up all day.. i am really frustrated not being able to be in control.

On a positive note, i was holding DS when i fell and at least he is perfectly fine.

dylsmum1998 · 26/06/2010 11:42

Micky your right loads seems to have happened on here. take it easy- so good your mum is able to fly over and help you!

swan I second mickys kind thought to you and dh

I love this hot sunny weather . so far today i have tidied through and washed the floors.
ds helped me tidy, hoover and wash the car.

Am now debating whether or not I will be able to carry the old tv to the car to take to the dump after ds's swimming lesson

bbl

swanriver · 26/06/2010 19:13

Omg ML that is awful tg your mum is coming, and will the inlaws help too?
And in the heat too. I am very sorry (everyone is our family is always breakng things, mother brother son)
I hope you can read a bit, watch nice films and generally relax although everyone says it is so frustrating to watch other people bustling around although eventually one just has to accept it gracefully.

I've just come back from school fete, been there and setting up and serving/clearing since 8.15 am, and just staggered in after sweeping the playground of discarded sweeties and worse. Actually fete was fun for once, lovely music, lovely plant stall, delicious spicy food etc.
As usual I had to buy back my own cake, which I am eating; it is perfectly delicious, light as air, I am very glad no-one bought it

OP posts:
MickyLee · 27/06/2010 08:35

dyls did you manage to take your old tv to the tip? old tvs are bloody heavy things.

swan Go you.. supermum being such an active part of the fete.

Everything here is going ok. mum is running round doing everything... i think she now understands why my place is always messy.. 2 DC 1 and 3 leave mess where ever they have been.

Friend on her way round now with her DD so that will be lovely and my DC will have a playfriend for a couple of hours.

wendyhappysmile · 27/06/2010 11:11

ML Poor you! Keep calling in the favours and try to be philosophical.
swam LOl at buying back your own cake!

tired today, in a grumpy mood, but DH isn't helping, he is doing my head in at the minute!!! He only wants to do the jobs he likes doing, then expects copious thanks for them; shouts at the children and puts them on the naughty step for nothing at all; never plays with the children and snaps at them if they dare to ask; can't make a decision and asks me the most trivial of questions instead of just deciding for myself ... Could go on. Probably all just normal male behaviour but it is driving me mad!

swanriver · 27/06/2010 15:25

very quiet on here,
it's too hot to go anywhere, in London.

Dh has been sick all night with something new , but strangely enough has revived enough to show enthusiasm for football. He is sitting on floor with kids with variety of pointedly "healthy" snacks so that I don't complain about Tango and Crisps.

I bought lots of makeup, and moisturizer this morning with ds on wayback from church (feeling defiant); dd has spent happy hour putting it on me and her. We've just spent a while taking it all off again with various potions and lotions.

Dh made delicious lunch for us with dd's help.
House revolting, have cleaned bathroom, bedroom, decluttered again, now giving up.
Ds1 has another project on subject of England. I am stressed already, will try to get him to do something later.

OP posts:
swanriver · 27/06/2010 15:31

Wendy moodiness is v. difficult to deal with, could they all be suffering from a sort of mass football induced pyschosis

I can see there is nothing to do except do some more hoovering. Gardening will only make more mess somewhere even if it just kitchen floor.

OP posts:
wendyhappysmile · 27/06/2010 16:28

swan that's funny, I spent over £25 on the Body Shop website on luxuries like make up and lovely stuff feeling defiant too! I wonder why we all get on so well on this thread!
My house is annoying too, cleaned bathroom too today but need to vacuum desperately also!

DS has just said 'I don't think I want to watch this anymore Mummy' about the football. He is so right!
Too hot for gardening

MickyLee · 27/06/2010 17:14

swan and wendy i also great a big thrill from buying new products.. rather buy cosmetics than clothes!
