Morning ladies. I too read that nasty thread, and couldn't believe it. I won't be joining you here, as my lists are on a lovely notebook that DH gave me for Christmas, as he knows my addiction to lists, and I can update it more easily if it's handwritten. But I wanted to add my support for fellow listmakers

You do what you need to do to keep afloat, IMHO, and to hell with anyone else.

I dont know roger very well but I know that he and neil were very close
in the navy together for a long time and then really helping each other with their businesses
I can see why he was neils good mate
he was very kind to me and is coming round next week to fix the fridge for me and connect the towel rail in the bathroom

Sounds like a good bloke, Trinity - a real friend to Neil and his family. Well done on getting the number from Neil's hpone and calling him - can't have been easy.

Actually the thread wasn't so bad really, just one person slating us and getting shouted at by the whole of MN THEN making a complete tit of herself by posting that list on here. It got quite funny in the middle with all the flowery cunt stuff too. AND we got lots of new people to talk to

I want to back up what Plum said to the newbies-don't feel like you have to post lots or reply to us all individually etc (although great if you do!), just use it as it suits. Sometimes I don't post at all, sometimes I just post a list and run without reading anyone else's and other times I come on and chat without even a list as an excuse.

Oh yes, anyone with older dc - I was planning to pass on the really baby books (eg usborne first words and other one word per page books)because the dc like a bit more of a story now but then someone said I should keep them for when they start reading. What do you think? (dd is 3.9, ds 2.2)

Freakoid, I'd give them away - I found when DD1 (now 6yo) started reading that she wanted a story to encourage her along rather than single words. She was more engaged with a story, IYSWIM. Books with single sentences per page are better in my limited experience.

Afternoon, I spent this morning, making beds and cleaning bathrooms. I have just tidied over the rooms, and over the next week or so am going to do a room a day. (thats the plan, hope it works out)

Be back later with a list, need to make lunch and really want to shock DH when he comes in by (1) having a fully clean house and (2) not being on the computer when he comes in

Discovered the new vacuum bags were the wrong ones, resulting in the inside of my vacuun being absolutely disgusting

So have resorted to the beam which needs emptied and cleaned out don't think I have instructions for it, so will have to wing it
