wolf In the words of Pop will eat itself DH was at def con 1. Ed is getting above himself and it will get him in trouble.

I too have a damp, sneakyh slidy headache (boo!)

Why have Snow Patrol got under my skin? I've only join their facebook group! I'm over 35 fps

Done mt chores for the day and just have to eat and tidy after dinner now

I think I need a long lie down on a dark pier

wendyhappysmile · 10/01/2010 18:06

LOL grouchy
i am thoroughly fed up today. had words with FIL over lunch (we were summoned to lunch at 11.30 when I had already planned ours and prepped it and DH said yes, so I was in a pretty bad mood, really!) over something stupid but he is very abrasive in his manner which I wasn't tolerant of today.
Atmsophere ensued, DS started getting naughty so we went home.
Oh dear i seem to ruin everything with my big mouth.
Feeling very fat and wintery too, need to do Swan's diet I think, and lose half a stone, it really gets me down.

Whine, whinge, moan - sorry!!!

Better just BB tomorrow. DD first day of nursery tomorrow. I have first swimming lesson in over a month, so am not looking forward to that, either.

See you later.

dylsmum1998 · 10/01/2010 18:15

OFM that would be interesting. still be nice not to have him argueing with me for a bit lol

Wendy sorry you a feeling fed up . Iam going to start swimming this week with my friend who wants to loose weight, she is very fed up too

wolf and grouchy hope your headaches go soon.

dd came home from her dads telling me she was desperatley tired . although she doesnt seem it now she has eaten. her dad offers her food but she doesn't eat for him really. we do very different foods so not sure how to go about this. i have tried suggesting to him that he may like to try her with pasta/rice/fruit/veg rather than nuggets/chips etc. but he doesn't seem to.

just the bedtime routines left to do, then i am going to lay on the sofa for a bit and watch tv before i get an early night as i am 'desperately tired'

scattyspice · 10/01/2010 18:45

I have had a grumpy afternoon too (no reason as dh and dc in good spirits and i am perfectly well ). We probably all have the January Blues .

Have done all my jobs.

Hopefully no more snow tonight and we can get back to normal next week. .

Starbear · 10/01/2010 19:17

ofm We should post what's on the radio as another link I would love to listen to Comedy at 6.30pm but that is an impossible time in this house. I don't have an ipod to download for a better time. Listened to Rolf Harris while preparing Sunday dinner. Little bear is so luck to have older parents he can discover 'snow patrol' another time grouchy Wendy I'm feeling lumping too. I'll try tomorrow to start a diet.dyls swimming is a good way to start as you can't snack in the water This is historically a bad time of year for me might plan some fun things to get me through the next three months.
cinema with the girls
cinema with Ds & friends
night out with the girls
Maybe try for cheap tickets for 'Hairyspray' seen the film, think my boys will like the music.
Do some gardening when the snow disappears
Come on folks what else can we do to cheer us up?

swanriver · 10/01/2010 19:28

well, I spoke too soon, managed to have a row with dh during supper
rather relieved to find everyone else a bit grumpy!

swanriver · 10/01/2010 19:34

Long lie down on a dark pier sounds v poetic Grouchy
possibly not when waves are large

TeaMonster · 10/01/2010 20:25

Evening ladies

Groucy Chacing Cars is DS2's song. It was playing on the CD as I left the car. I adore Snow Patrol and have seen them live in a previous life.

Wendy I fell out with my mum yesterday

Waves to everyone else.

I am waiting for microdoft to come back regarding the laptop

DH has done loads today and I have sat on my bum, I am feeling off too

swanriver · 10/01/2010 20:52

evening has gone well, fire in front room has been beautiful all afternoon, dd snuggled up with me on sofa just now reading Famous Five (set in Wales with snow) and Katie Morag
Radio 3 on - dh's choice, v soothing

Star - Reasons to be cheerful

Marmalade making season soon
Replan your garden or look at seed cats or plant cats for inspiration in advance of spring
think about redecorating a room in house you've always wanted to..
paint your own canvas
make yourself a beautiful string of beads
read a classic you've been putting off for years
stick some photos in an album starting from this month, don't tackle backlog

er can't think of anything else sorry
ah yes think of spring summer hols etc and enjoy weighing up options

OverflowingMum · 10/01/2010 21:09

swan lovely reasons to be cheerful!
also - not long till spring bulbs start appearing!

Well, my ears/chest/throat/ are now all totally gunked up! Feeling rubbish...so off to bed...

Consultant has just emailed suggesting March start date for job
All seems to be happening faster than planned ho-hum!
Has said I can negotiate exact hours, whether 0.6/0.5 etc... so thats good...
Now just need to aquire a textbook and remind myself vaguely how to dot he job LOL

right off to bed....
BBtomorrow hopefully recovered!

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 10/01/2010 21:13

evening all.
going to have another attempt at the wagon tomorrow.
things not too bad in the house but could be better.
I am starting the week with good news...
email from MNHQ. I won a laptop! I never win anything hopefully it is a sign that better times are ahead.

dylsmum1998 · 10/01/2010 21:35

ofm sounds very exciting abotu the job

swan not read famous five for ages. I loved those when I was younger.

Greyskull wow great news. congratulations

swanriver · 10/01/2010 21:45

Perfect job then OFM - he wants you!

swanriver · 10/01/2010 21:50

Wendy - sorry about your lunch/FIL, it just all leaves such a bad taste in the mouth doesn't it But still lovely that they are around, even if irritating. No inlaws or mums/dads near to invite us to lunch at all [boo hoo] - I'm sure that's why dh and I fall out every Sunday, over lack of Sunday family rituals

Sure swimming will go smoothly, and you will be better than where you left off
