simply I just made it up! Mum makes a similar lemon one which is where I got the inspiration. I stewed about 5 medium size cooking apples (grown by parents) with a tiny bit of sugar and a tiny bit of water. When stewed I threw in a very generous splash of brandy. I made a 4,4,4,2 sponge mixture and put the apple in a pyrex dish then covered it with the sponge. Sprinkle of sugar on top and bunged in the oven until a skewer (stuck in sponge layer only) came out clean. Eaten with cream. I am stuffed to bursting, it was rather nice.

Ds1 was in an excellent mood chatting to his Dad - calm before storm I fear.

Galen, men in a bad mood at least we get hysterical rather than brooding and sullen - it's all that sardonic muttering that really does my head in. I hope dd3 feels more easy with herself soon.

Dd suddenly offered ME 50p from her pocket money today as a reward for ME being nice - I think it was a sort of dig at the deductions system I have operating recently (10p off every time they fight).

Actingnormal - well done on ironing and polishing shoes. Don't feel bad about the lack of fun activities - just concentrate on getting some rest.
