Good morning ladies

It is bloody raining again today.

Ali that is a long list! Good luck!

I have quite a lot to do today, not housework wise really, just got different places to be at different times.

Check the weather
Do horses - Muck out, hay, water etc. Check Alice in case she is cold and needs a rug on.
Get back home
Get cleaned up and changed
Go to stay and play summer party in the town hall at 11am
Be home for 2 as supposed to have autoglass coming out but they won't come if it is still raining.
Get some washing taken upstairs and put away
Run a duster round downstairs
Sweep hall and kitchen floor.
Wash throws
Hoover
Cook dinner - bolognese?

JustKeepSwimming · 29/07/2009 09:35

Ali - good luck!

Plum - but...if i lie out my clean towels on the floor like that to fold them they will get covered in cat hair/walked on by the kids/mop up whatever is spilt on the floor/etc....

PMSL over the towels! Would they not take up more room?

Decided to clean out my top presses this morning, as I want to do a big shop this weekend because our fis (family income supplement) stops this week while they renew it, takes up to 14 weeks. Have decided to use it as a way of saving for christmas! So want to use my childrens allowance to do a big shop and then pay some of my esb, gas and bins! Hope it works!!

Anyhow while cleaning out my presses, I was using my cooker to put stuff on, DD3 was helping me! Got down to put stuff in the bin when I got a strong smell of coffee, DD3 had put on the cooker ring and coffee bag had melted! . Then when I was moving the drinking chocolate, the lid wasnt on properly and spilt all over me . So ended up making more work for myself!!

TO DO
Everyone up DONE
Everybody dressed EXCEPT DD3
Breakfast DONE
Clean out presses DONE
Bath DD3
Clean Bathroom while she is in bath
Make Lunch
Clean up after it
Go to DNs birthday party

claireybee · 29/07/2009 11:31

All I seem to be doing today is getting dd food (must be a growth spurt) and changing ds' nappy, he's done 5 poos already today

Alice just read what you wrote yesterday about your mum and I think that would be my feeling too. It all sounds very complicated!

Need to hang my washing up but it feels like ttoo much effort at the moment because I have to clear the airer first.

PLum my airing cupboard could never look like that-we only have 2 shelves and they are both really high so I either have to jump or stand on a chair to get stuff (I usually go for the umping option which is why mine is always such a state!)

Will post list later if I can get motivated enough Am too slatternly even for the slatterns at the moment

claireybee · 29/07/2009 11:34

Cikecaka I now have to turn my cooker off at the wall because we have had several melting things incidences (ds likes to put his toys in the oven then turn it on). Also dd turned one of the hobs on and then put her hand on the top -luckily she put her hand on the opposite side to the one she'd turned on.

JustKeepSwimming · 29/07/2009 11:42

Clairey - very scary for you!

CC - very annoying for you!

Plum - lol i suppose i could give it a try on the ironing board then
My towels currently live in drawers in a big chest as we don't have an airing cupboard so not sure if it will make much difference tbh!

Plum - Anthea would kill to be Martha!

I tried that towel thing when Anthea's show was on but I have no surfaces. It does look fab, and the cupboard is tidier though. I may give it another go.

CC grrrr I'm really trying to budget at the min,
and my mum wants me to go out to M&S tomorrow night to get uniforms I told her I would rather not as we have christening this week and was waiting until next when I will have more money,

but I think she thought I was just putting her off and is annoyed that I won't let her buy some of the uniforms(MIL bought some last year) so I backed down, and will let her get some, she still gets staff discount even though she took early retirement,

anyway it will help as I can put the money I save towards a daytrip out for dcs (or maybe even a night away in our towbehind)[eek]

cikecaka · 29/07/2009 12:31

I am so mortified! DD1 and DD2 (11and 10) decided to have a punch up during tennis lessons. DSil took it upon herself to come in to tell me and that DD2 had run off. Found DD2 and have her siting at the kitchen table, have grounded both of them because of it, supposed to be going to a party at DSILs house aftr dinner .

trying to decide whether to take DD2 back to the doctor (she has an underactie thyroid), because she has got very aggressive lately and is constantly fighting with everyone

Apologies, know this has nothing to do with the slatterns thread but I just wanted to vent

ithinkmydaughterispeppapig · 29/07/2009 12:41

This rain is really miserable

Sorry to be a bit slow but who is Martha???

Ds1 was hoping for a lazer shoot out party for his birthday, but I have looked into it and it's 11 pounds per head and you have to pay for a min of 10 people. So I will have to talk to DH out it. It is his 13th so I would like to make it special.
I had to type out pounds because my keyboard is behaving oddly, when I shift and 3 I get a quotation mark and not a pound sign, also I have to press shift and 2 to get an @

MuppetsMuggle · 29/07/2009 13:00

CC - what have your DC said about fighting?

PlumBumMum · 29/07/2009 13:07

Yes Martha Stewart is a domestic goddess I have watched her life story (her ego ruined her marriage though) and yeap she went to jail for fraud I think

Peppa go to control panel, then regional and language options, then click on the keyboard and languages tab and you should get the option to change the keyboard to English uk

(It has driven me mad each time I've lived abroad because the keyboard has been set to different languages and I haven't been able to type properly!) there is a shorter way of doing it on the keyboard itself but I can't remember how!

New title : Calling all slatterns. Martha Stewart we certainly are not! (or something along those sort of lines)

Anyway, the party was hell on earth, but we are home now, dd is having a nap and my windscreen has been replaced. Will do my jobs when DH gets home and dinner is cooking,

Back later (if we have a thread) I really don't want to do new thread, as you can tell i am shocking at titles and any thread i start ends after about 5 posts, all of which ii wrote!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 29/07/2009 16:32

Well I've been rubbish today. Managed quite a lot of sleep last night but felt exhausted still so I went for a 'nap' at 10 when DS went down for his. I woke up when he did at 1.15pm! That is a long time for him to sleep, must be from his jab yesterday. Not doing very well with my list!!!!

Peppa - DS was like that for a couple of weeks when he started to crawl, things have improved, he only woke once last night!
