new thread - a little early but I wanted to mark my return.

Sorry for everything I've missed - but I can promise you I'm BACK now

I feel like crying right now. there is a mountain of washing up and the sides need wiping but I just have to look at it. The dc didn't want dinner so I just gave them some cereal and they had a fight and tipped it all over the floor and it's trod through the whole house. the dining room and kitchen floors are all sticky where ds tipped his juice on them. he also keeps pulling his willy out of the top of his nappy and so is weeing all over floor, i hoovered up some of the cereal b ut it opened up a small cut (from the same incident) and i didn't notice for ages so have dripped blood all over the floor. It is still bleeding so I can't get my clean washing in. Feel so useless and all because of a cut finger, how pathetic

Muppets - yey re college! the holiday was lovely thanks, lots of rum cocktails, beer, wine, food, chilling out with no DCs, etc.....

Well not sure what MIL did wrong, but 2 x delicate loads & 1 x normal and the machine seems fine......

Alice what colour, you know me I love paint colours! Which reminds me I still need to change my chimney breast colour in the lounge, wasn't enough contrast!
haven't got any washing sorted have spent the day scaring internet to see rules and regulations for additional seats in cars still none the wiser,
rang insurance company and they are going to get back to me tomorrow!

No its something we have been meaning to do for along time but it is also something that will hold up future plans to increase the brood,
originally we thought it would cost £500 so I'm afraid it was always going to be way down the list for things to get done,
but dh got the seats from a van given to him and they have seatbelts built in,
so he can fit them and as far as we can tell as long as it passes MOT they will be fine, and as long as insurance company says ok,
if not then I'm afraid dc no4 will have to wait long time as we are not in the position to change our car.
Although have seen plenty of conversions on the internet, and the UK version (Japenese import) of our car has 7 seats,
so we might already be insured for 7 seats!

The colour is a bluey/greeny/grey, quite a deep colour and soooo nice, will put photo's up when all finished (with shelves etc) If anyone is very interested it is crown paint in Boutique - even sounds posh

Clairey - sounds like a nightmare day. Hope its better tomorrow.

I've had a mega exhausting day. Took DS for first morning at Metherin nursery at the village school. I stayed with him and he was fine but I had to stand up lots. Also walked there and back. He was exhausted after and went to sleep straight away when I took him to his usual nursery near my work. Unfortunately I didn't have that option and had to put in an afternoons work. Am so tired now can hardly think!

Alice that sounds lovely. I am thinking about repainting our dining room in a similar colour, it is red at the moment. It is all one big room with the living room though and that has got a red sofa and other things in it which wouldn't go with anything blue, and would be expensive to replace!!

HMHB - that sounds exhausting - I bet you are already thinking longingly of maternity leave!! Will you keep DS in nursery then or will he be at home with you all the time?

DS has finally gone to sleep I think. He is so unsettled since we came back from holiday. I think maybe he got used to sleeping in the same room as us and isn't liking being back on his own - hope he gets used to it soon!!
Can I ask - when the hell do people find the time for ironing? I have been meaning to do some all week - historically I don't iron but I've decided we're too old now to get away with crumples so I am not used to factoring it in. Any tips?

Ali - i tend to do mine in the evening after boys have gone to bed in front of the tv - though it takes up most of an evening then. if i can i grab moments when ds2 is asleep and ds1 happily watching tv otherwise engaged and do some then.
it's got to all be accessible and easy to set up otherwise i find it gets put off.

I woke at random times in the night and ds1 up at 4am crying for his slippers
meant they all slept a bit later which is good, took me aaages to get back to sleep prob 5amish.

Ali - I don't do any ironing. DH does his own when he needs something, but there's always a big boxful and he just wears the same few things from the top of the pile.
I probably should iron, but I want to keep on top of the important things before I take up a new hobby.
