Okay, I am clearly worrying way too much about this but there are only a few spaces left in the old thread!

(What do I think will happen if we finish without a new list? We'll just make a new one. Relax woman!)

Thanks to alicecrail for the title.

Please finish the old thread before starting on this one - there could be a prize if you are number 1000.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 23/05/2009 19:35

Hope everyone had a good day.

MM- hope you are feeling better.
JKS - hope the new drugs work for DS2. Fingers crossed for you.
PBM - go girl. Hope DH cheered you up.

Permission to vent...

We popped out to take DS to a little model train. All went well until he got a bit tired and caused a 'situation'.

For some reason he went mental when I bought him a choc ice cream and ran in to the road whilst I was holding 2 ice creams and waiting for change. I ditched the ice creams and ran after him. A nice lady had grabbed him and he was screaming and doing that toddler wriggly thing so you can't pick them up. I felt awful bet they thought I was a terrible parent.

I managed to pick him up, got the change and the ice creams and he was still going mad so DH (who had only just turned up at this point) got him a different ice cream. This made him worse and he had to carry him bodily (under the arm technique) as he was completely stiff with rage, back to the car. He wouldn't touch the ice cream for some reason. I think he was just massively tired.

Apologies to the nice people of that village. I am sure they were relieved when we went home. DH and I had to have a nice cuppa and a rest when we got in!

Evening to do list
Get DS to bed
Chill out and watch tv
Dishy on done
Have nice tea done

Tomorrow
Pack stuff for trip to beach ready for quick departure when appropriate weather arrives.
More washing
Clean fridge (sorry pg hormones must be kicking in)

Plus
Make choc brownies!
Do some exercise x 3 times a week - 1 walk Monday, bit of gardening today
Go see head of DS's new school
DS Haircut!
Get cooker bloke back!
Update phone
More jobs
Buy new bathmat
Get some decent maternity clothes for work
Still haven't had a facial - done one at home, skin bit better already. Should do one a week.
Buy new mugs
Buy kitchen towel holder

PlumBumMum · 23/05/2009 19:47

Oh JKS where to start, first [whispers] hope that means maybe the new meds working [hopeful]

My cousins 40th is on Friday, and I asked dm was my dad going, and she said she wasn't sure he was suppossed to be but dosen't know now (hello they are married and live together, I honestly don't know what kind of relationship they have?), anyway I said well I wasn't sure about going then and she rolled her eyes

(bearing in mind that we went to a family wedding 2 years ago and he walked out of reception when he realised I was there)

Then very flipant she said ahh just pop over, let my little grandchildren knock my door

I just said its not going to happen and stop saying things like that, she seems to have no regard for my feelings whatsoever!

How many times do I have to tell her not to say silly things?

And she put his name on dds communion card after me telling her that dh checks the post and would throw any cards out with his name on them,
I'm actually more annoyed about the card as normally he has written his name, so I think well she didn't want to tell him not to, but this time his name was in her handwriting

I didn't mention the card as I don't see any point anymore she really dosen't listen and wants everything swept under the carpet

To make matters worse my dad isn't well and I made the mistake of telling her that I looked up all the info on the internet,
I think she is holding out hope that I will go and see him, and I am getting hassle from my aunts to make it up with him because he is sick!

and breathe

PlumBumMum · 23/05/2009 19:53

Oh HMHB, it happens to us all, what age is ds again?

dh will cheer me up later, but hes out fixing abit of the patio, so he better have the energy for his plans

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 23/05/2009 19:58

PBM - Sorry to hear your family are driving you round the bend. They just know how to push your buttons and really wind you up. Hope things get sorted out as much as they can be. HUG

JustKeepSwimming · 23/05/2009 20:02

Plum - ((hugs)) for you, sounds like she's in major denial.
PMSL at your plans for later

HMHB - it does happen to us all, you want the ground to swallow you up and wonder if it's worth going out at all!

Well DS2 got through a day with no major seizures and we only saw the few 'nods' he did before naptime. if the drugs have worked that quickly i'm gobsmacked and in awe.
it may have been a blip but it was a welcome relief after the last few days.

Weekend:

  • all usual jobs & meals
  • DH to take ds1 out on bike lots out
  • clean laundry put away MostlyDone
  • some gardening
  • try and set alarm at bedtime for the night
  • try and clear out boys clothes that are too small & put in loft
  • get bigger clothes down from loft for ds2
  • get summer clothes sorted out for boys
  • watch some airshow activity tomorrow
  • ring insurance people to chase my new laptop
  • anything else i think of as we go along!

Ongoing:

  • get to 8stone 7lbs (currently 8,9)
  • contact handyman (sort list)
  • get photos of family & hang them up
  • buy some cheap photo albums
  • book nursery for extra work days coming up ReviewTheseDueToDS2
  • go through all websites i've bought stuff off recently and change passwords
  • research epilepsy PlentyMoreToDo
  • find correct sized refills for filofax pen
PlumBumMum · 23/05/2009 20:11

Yeap JKS she really is the sad thing is she probably could have sorted it all out in the beginning if she had stood her ground,

she told him "you have just left your daughter in tears" and he said "what about me?" at this point she should have said its not about you, your daughter has just had a baby (1 day old) and you have left her crying in the hospital, yet again ruining another family occassion!
No she sat there and didn't say anything, oh I really do need my own thread but no one would read it as it would take forever to read!

But I am stuck with what happens if he is really sick, I am really worried but I can't just go back with him thinking he has done no wrong,
and I have enough to deal with here, dd will be in hosp in the summer and I will be back to loads of drops etc

sorry rant over hows everyome else then?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 23/05/2009 20:42

Plum what a nightmare that sounds. Rows with family are so horrid because you can't just walk away like you could if it was with a friend, everyone else in the family interferes and tries to fix things! Your Mum should realise and pull your Dad into line

JKS - tentative yay for the new meds, glad you all had a nice time together

HMHB - We've got all that to look forward to in a few years I expect!

DONE
Breakfast x 3
All up and dressed
