Trillian well done on mopping floor

Flame, well done on posting books

I'm making fish pie for dinner
and have stripped some more paint in lounge!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 30/04/2009 17:41

I'm handing in my notice because I'm due to go back after mat leave in 2 months, and they are being fuckers. Have offered me full time an hour's drive away from home, which would mean DS in childcare for 11 hours a day 5 days a week. It's been a major contribution to me feeling so down, so DH and I have decided I will quit. We can manage until he gets a new job which he is already looking for. I feel sooo much better already!

TA - well done on the floor!

CC - what is Gaa practice?

JKS - I'm impressed at the speed with which you've swung back into action

TrillianAstra · 30/04/2009 17:45

Well done Ali - can I ask a stupid question? Do you now have to pay back the maternity pay they gave you?

I am very proud of cleaning the floor, not least because we don't have a mop (we live in a flat, the kitchen's not very bid) so it's a hands-and-knees job.

OP posts:
cikecaka · 30/04/2009 18:09

ALI, Gaelic Practice is gaelic football training, a different form of soccer I suppose,
Better get off this as I set the timer for 15 mins so I would get something done
Found the E70
Have a toothache and It wont go away

JustKeepSwimming · 30/04/2009 18:18

CC - ouch re toothache

ALi - thanks, well have had to try and get back to normal. who knows, he may not ave another fit.
but...he keeps doing this weird thing when he 'dips' his head and sort of rolls his eyes upwards, just for half a second every few mins, not regularly or anything. it freaks me out.
am going to have to post on SN boards for advice from parents of epileptics to see if that is a sign.

Also found out a friend's DD has mumps (has had mmr), she was here on fri last week. one symptom of mumps is convulsions. DS2 has not yet had his mmr......

  • ds1 to pre-school DONE

Evening All.

CC about toothache

TA Well done on the floor

JKS - Hopefully the SN boards may help you with some questions you have?!

Well the pain is alot worse tonight taken double dose of painkillers tonight (am allowed)

DP has been so sweet today, came home at lunch time I didn't even ask him too, and he brought lunch with him too

cikecaka · 30/04/2009 18:34

Oh MM, poor you, feel very guilty complaining of a toothache, its just that I would rather have the kids again then go to a dentist .

alicecrail · 30/04/2009 18:39

stupid fucking useless piece of shite washing machine is playing silly buggers, am so not impressed have only had 6months!!

cikecaka · 30/04/2009 19:18

Right, have invited DHs cousin and his wife to dinner on Sunday evening. Need to get the kitchen and sitting room cleaned to a better standard than the are now so tomorrow and sat I need to

SITTING ROOM
Wash the rest of the seat covers
Clean under the seats
clean behind the couch where must of DD3s toys are kept
Get rid of fingerprints off the tv
Polish TV stand
declutter mantle piece
Put up some photos
Try and get rid of DD3s artwork from the wall

KITCHEN
Get rid of the pile on top of the radio
Clean round bottom of presses
Clear shelves at side of fridge
Check for cobwebs

TrillianAstra · 30/04/2009 19:23

You know no-one is going to look under your seats right CC?

I find having people round is a great tidying motivator

OP posts:

Household:
Make banana cake DONE
Carry on with laundry DONE
Call my aunt DONE BUT NO ANSWER SO NOW I HAVE TO PHONE MY COUSIN TO SEE IF SHE IS OK

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 30/04/2009 19:27

Evening.

alicecrail washing machine sounds like it is testing your patience.

Hope everyone and DC's are feeling better.

I had a moment of madness today....it must be the pregnancy hormones. Anyway I read on the NHS website that you should have 2 weeks worth of food in the house in case you are ill and can't go out (re swine flu) and also that pregnant women can't take tamiflu (but they can take something else). So, basically I panicked myself (and I am usually quite rational, honest) and went to Asda during my lunch hour to stock up on pasta, rice etc and was going round the store feeling more and more stressed. We don't have much storage so never keep lots of tins and stuff in usually which is why I was fretting.

I feel fine now and a bit embarrassed . Hope you don't think I am too bonkers. If there is no flu coming, we'll take the food on holiday or eat it when the baby comes. DH is putting it in the garage. Although we are joking who weakens first and goes and gets the kitkats (emergency rations obv).

Jobs
Unpack ridiculous amount of shopping
Get DS to bed
Tidy kitchen
Make dinner
Empty dishy
Dishy on
Sort out washing for DS
Pack DS nursery bag
Sort out things for DH's birthday tomorrow

Tomorrow
Pick up parcel from post office
Get M&S food for DH's birthday tea
Probably some other stuff

cikecaka · 30/04/2009 19:29

TA, it has happened before when batteries from the remote have disappeared and have lifted the cushions to check.

Comewhinewithme · 30/04/2009 19:29

Evening all. Will read through posts later but hope everyone has had ok days and to those who have had a bit of a crap day .

I am still feeling out of it and have just pottered around doing bits and bobs .
My friend came round in the afternoon and then my sister popped in so was nice to sit and chat .
DBRO came back with me after school run and kept dc entertained so it has been an ok day .
DP has come home and he has got a week off after next . So I am hoping to do nothing except sleep and eat or maybe snuggling up with a new baby .

See you all in morning hope you have good nights and TGIF tomorrow an end to what seems to have been a bit of a rubbish week for us all .

TrillianAstra · 30/04/2009 19:32

In that case I'll put it on my list of things to clean before people visit! Our sofa is probably full of crisp crumbs.

OP posts:
alicecrail · 30/04/2009 19:36

HMHB at 'testing patience'
I really wanted to swaer and kick it but can't because i don't like to do that in front of DD so had to write it down!
I think you may need a proper old fashioned larder
