PBM Sorry about the dog, dd nearly ran out in front of a car today, we were at a crossing and she ran to press the button but went a couple of steps too far, I just froze. Luckily she was still a step or so back from the road but I really yelled at her not to run towards a road and then cried!

Well sorry, Sally is dead, the dcs are more upset than I thought they would be

She was hit by a lorry and the driver was upset but he didn't see her at all, I feel awful for him, she really had no sense at all, I'm just glad no one else was hurt

Claireybee its very scary when dcs walk out on to the road dd2 did it on me last week

Really @ nursery just picked dd up and she was sobbing and saying she was too hot . I went in her lunchbag to see if she had any drink left to give her and her bottle was still sealed so she has had a carton of milk all day .

ComeWhine - that's not good

Plum - sounds like it was going to happen one day with her. my parents adopted a rescue dog years ago (having had loads of dogs over the years) and it kept running away. the first few times they would drive around looking for it, put up posters, etc. and she was always found and brought back.
eventually they had enough, she ran away and didn't come back, they didn't spend too long looking and left her to be wild - which she probably had been before the rescue centre tried to do the right thing. she wasn't friendly either and didn't get on with their other pets.

I am surprised at dd1, but she has just made Sainsburys Jamie oliver Strawberry fool thing so that has cheered her up.

I like talking to everyone on this thread too. Just wish I could go on here whilst at work . DH thinks everyone on mumsnet is highly intelligent and tres amusant, which they obviously are.
