I used Felicity again and she zipped round the kitchen and hall no problem so I hope it was a temporary hiccup. I'm now back in Nigeria so I took her battery out and she's having a nice rest until I get back in December. I dare say she'll be busy over Christmas!

Haven't read all of thread but keen to know if it would pick up all the bts of food DS1 throws on the floor at each meal?
Any thoughts?

Have those of you that Roomba noticed an inpact on your electricity bills? I am trying to come up with arguments to stop me ordering one on line right now but the temptation is SOOOOOoooOOOOOO strong.

RottenOtter · 25/10/2008 22:46

Pannacotta · 25/10/2008 22:48

Thanks Rotten, good to hear about the food debris, not so good about the expensive injuries, in what way do you work poor Philip hard?

RottenOtter · 25/10/2008 22:49

I love my little Ruby, she was "born" in May, but I have had 3 before - they are so tempremental - if you use an air compressor thingy to blow them thru every now & then it's amazing what cack flies out!
Best thing since sliced bread

Roomba and the £40 one - what happens when they meet an obstacle eg a TV cable? Am worried that I'd get one and come back to find it stuck with a burned out motor?

Heated · 27/10/2008 20:49

So which is the one which docks itself?

And where did you all buy yours from?

If you have, say, wooden floors with a dining table and chairs on the wooden bits and two sofas and some other chairs, would this just be a nightmare for a Roomba or would it somehow go around and in between and still work? Or do you have to empty the room or clear a space? dh does the hoovering but I'd like to give him a break.

RedLollyYellowLolly · 27/10/2008 21:27

Jura, would you recommend that seller?

I'm reluctant to buy anything electrical from anywhere apart from John Lewis just because their aftercare is so good. But they don't do the 560 and I've decided if I'm going to do it I may as well go the whole hog....

Heated · 27/10/2008 21:42

Just seen barmey sell them for £209, have bought from them before & no problems. Shame about JL though.

Heated · 27/10/2008 21:44

and here for £199 plus delivery.

Heated · 27/10/2008 21:47
