Is anyone still hanging the washing outside?

I've just hung a load on the line but I'm not sure there's much point. I really miss the line-dried smell if I hang it indoors though, plus I hate having damp washing draped everywhere.

When do you stop hanging outside?

I have just put an airer full of nappies outside and have filled my rotary line and my long line with washing! It is a lovely sunny day here and pretty windy so it should all get dry, yesterday i got 3 loads dry. Now i just have to iron it all

tangarine · 10/10/2008 11:13

I am just about to. Jellyshoes, I am liking your cover.

SpandexIsMyEnemy · 10/10/2008 11:13

mine is yes, and a load ready to go out after.

nappyaddict · 10/10/2008 11:15

yes pegged out 3 loads this morning.

more · 10/10/2008 11:16

Dry it outside all year around. No money for a dryer, and no space inside.

InvisibleCherryChapstick · 10/10/2008 11:17

I have 2 loads out today, it will dry, sun is out and a slight breeze. Yesterday I got 2 loads dry to the point of being crispy.
As long as there is some sun, some wind and no rain, it goes out there, although sometimes I finish it off in the tumble drier.

YES. It's my new hobby money saving initiative

She doesn't seem to have a probelm with it. They put it on when the weather turns then it stay's on until spring.

Their one sit's above the line so you can easily peg your washing out.

jellyshoeswithdiamonds · 10/10/2008 22:12

Thanks for finding out Lizziemun, I'm seriously considering getting one cos I can't tumble clothes (I seem to shrink them) and I'm so tired of having an airer up full of clothes all the time during the winter and even through the summer this year!

kiltycoldbum · 10/10/2008 22:13

just gone and got mine in! had forgotten all about it! but its nice and soft [purr]

ScareyBitchFeast · 10/10/2008 22:14

i never stop, all year

Cappuccino · 10/10/2008 22:15

I gave up on Wednesday

it was a lovely sunny day; I was warm on my walk to work, but after a full day out on the line the socks were still wet

GodzillasGhastlyPutridBumcheek · 10/10/2008 22:17

Hmmm...with a damp house and no tumble dryer, i'd have to say yes, we hang outdoors.

Also saves energy and therefore £££.

expatinscotland · 10/10/2008 22:23

if i can. and admittedly that hasn't been as often as i'd have liked this past year as it has been very, very wet.

jellyshoeswithdiamonds · 22/10/2008 10:32

I pegged out this morning and got another lol dried outside yesterday. Its sunny but no breeze so fingers crossed.

Anyone else lucky to get drying weather today?

babyjjbaby · 22/10/2008 23:03

bythepowerofgreyskull · 22/10/2008 23:05

Aefangedkiss · 23/10/2008 23:57

I hang mine out all year round, I am the eternal optimist.

jellyshoeswithdiamonds · 24/10/2008 11:36

The lol I put out yesterday got soaked, I've re-rinsed and spun it and now it's back out on the line today, blowing a treat , 2nd lol in w/m waiting to be pegged out.

expatinscotland · 24/10/2008 11:38

i've got it out just now - actually i need to get off here and go and ice this cake before DD2 gets back.

it's clear today, but BIG front coming through tomorrow so i'm on my 3rd load here since 7AM and the wind is helping dry everything.

fecking PITA because it's been way, way wet.

jellyshoeswithdiamonds · 06/11/2008 12:02

Mine is out. The weather is overcast and there is no wind ..... but it's out
