FAQ · 09/09/2008 08:23

today to try and get my house back to some sort of order (how does it descend into chaos so quickly?)

Don't know why but I'm feeling totally unmotivated and crappy, however my house is a tip again and I know that doesn't help my mood (ok it's never "good" but its usually at least acceptable) so I need to try and do something with it today to try and lift my mood a little.

Things I need to do are

Load the dishwasher (and put it on)
Washing, drying and ironing
Tidy the living room and hoover it
Tidy the kitchen (worktops, empty bin, floor etc)
Clean the bathroom (including emptying the bin, floor etc)

Need to get the DS's sorted before I start, but who will join me today??

Our (very large) Morrisons does not appear to have any of the £12 games, I sent dh in last night to check.
Shame, ds is desperate for Nintendo Ds Guitar Hero On Tour, and I would love to buy it for him but cannot afford the £30 in the shops...

FAQ · 10/09/2008 12:12

lol Divvy - when you posted I was in Morrisons looking at the 1/2 price games - where did all the PS2 games go??? They used to have a bit on the side where they sold cheap (£3.99-6.99 sort of thing) PS2 games and now they don't have ANY!!!!!

Just as well I've already orderd a Wii for the boys for Christmas!!!

Well I've just been to town and Morrisons, literally just got back and given DS3 his milk and put him down for a nap. Just going to go and check the washing I put on the line earlier and put the 2nd load out, then get some lunch.

If it's any consolation hippipotami they didn't have the Guitar Hero at mine either - they didn't have a huge range at all so was very suprised at ones i managed to get.

Right, am now actually going to have to switch computer off as it appears i can't be trusted to leave it.

Glad your ds didn't fall asleep FAQ.

hippipotami · 10/09/2008 12:53

thanks tootired

I rang them a little while ago and they said that they had virtually run out of everything and no they did not know if they were to get another delivery.

So will forget about it.

Charlee · 10/09/2008 12:55

Ok i have done all my jobs except calling about the hall for DS's party but i know she works untill 1.30pm so i will do it after that!
I need to change the kids beds and finish my dishes.

FAQ · 10/09/2008 12:57

hippi - i@m going to be in morrisons again before the end of the week - I'll have a look for you

I've got my second load of washing on the line - just about to have a coffee and a fag sit down before I hoover in here and then probably try and do kitchen floor

FAQ · 10/09/2008 13:08

I'm just suprised they didn't have any PS2 games, on offer, or not - hope that doesn't mean they've stopped doing them

OP posts:
Divvy · 10/09/2008 13:25

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/1375/603254

Hello again

I am feeling all virteous now .
I have managed to complete blitz the boys bedroom and the spare room . I have now got to go to the tip and the charity shop .

Still got the washing mountain to sort out and put away but I think I am going to have a coffee and a mooch first

FAQ · 10/09/2008 15:06

have to confess I'm not having such a good day as yesterday - done nothing since I put the washing on the line - not helped my DS3 only have 1hrs sleep.....

OP posts:
Divvy · 10/09/2008 15:13

maybe he will go bed earlier tonight?

I am keeping lily up today, to see if i can put her bed at 6

travellingwilbury · 10/09/2008 15:14

I didn't have a great day yesterday but if I combine the two days then they are better than the two days previous

It all makes sense in my head anyway so even if today hasn't been great the overall effect is still better than before

Hope your ds sleeps better later .

FAQ · 10/09/2008 15:41

nah he won't go to bed earlier, and even if he did (by some freak of nature lol) I won't be doing any housework tonight as DP is coming over

That's very true tw - I'm going to try and at least run the hoover round and do some other bits before I do dinner - and combined with the stuff I did yesterday it's still miles better than yesterday morning/

OP posts:
Divvy · 10/09/2008 19:26

fuck!.....lily only just gone bed...and smacked her head a futher 3 times! not as bad as this morning though!

Janni · 10/09/2008 19:53

Hi FAQ - I guessed this was your thread!

I've had a mad day as I've been looking after a friends's two year old while she went for hospital tests and that, as well as normal stuff has totally exhausted me.

Will join you tomorrow!

FAQ · 11/09/2008 09:05

oh Divvy - what a nightmare - hope DS is thriving on the mummy juice

Janni - yes it's me. Not going to be able to do much today - have my work focussed interview at the Job Centre at 10.10, then doctors appointment at 11.50 (so will go straight to it), then toddler group at 2pm.

Still I'm hoping in between that to get a few bits done, and possibly some tonight.

Haven't got a list really - but will update as I do stuff.

He is too! 6 weeks and 12lb 6oz now!

although at birth he was on 98th centile thingy, and is now on 75th, but to be honest I didnt expect him to stay up there, as none of the others were that big or big now even!

FAQ · 11/09/2008 09:39

fantastic

OP posts:
Divvy · 11/09/2008 10:04

faq why are they wanting you to go out work? hope it all goes ok

Peckarolloveragain · 11/09/2008 10:16

Hi can I join in?

I have tried flylady lots of times and although Im much better at this housewife malarky than I used to be it still doesnt come easy to me so would like to chat to some kindred spirits!

Just got home from a 4 day hospital stay with DD so got lots of catching up to do.

I have cleaned the bathroom so far, next need to put wet load in dryer and start a new one and load dish washer

FAQ · 11/09/2008 11:02

Managed to pop home between my interview and Drs

Divvy they don't want me to go out to work - it's something they do every 6 months just to discuss future plans for work, or if you're wanting to go back to work how they can help you out. Did a better off calculation for me - based on 20hrs a week at minimum wage - I'd be £115 a week better off, but that doesn't include housing costs (which I currently pay £400 for......)

However I did discover that it could be worth me applying for house benefit again - the mortgage interest bit - I didn't before as I assumed that because the house or mortgage aren't in my name I'd get no help towards it (I'm paying half out of my other benefits!) , but apparently I may do - so I'm going to get the forms sent to me to fill and apply

Have no idea how much the interest is, or what half of the interest (which is what I'd qualify for) but even a little bit of help would be good.

I also got my form for financial assistance for my OU course stamped

OP posts:
Divvy · 11/09/2008 11:07

oh I see, didnt realsie you had to checked every 6 months now!

Why cant you get housing benefit? as its not your house.

FAQ · 11/09/2008 11:13

I can't get housing benefits as I'm "responsible for a child of the landlord" (HB's words not mine ).

Only get the CT benefits, however there is a chance I'll get the assistance towards the interest on the 1/2 of the mortgage which I pay - just have to wait and see...........(after I've filled in yet more forms )
