today to try and get my house back to some sort of order (how does it descend into chaos so quickly?)

Don't know why but I'm feeling totally unmotivated and crappy, however my house is a tip again and I know that doesn't help my mood (ok it's never "good" but its usually at least acceptable) so I need to try and do something with it today to try and lift my mood a little.

Things I need to do are

Load the dishwasher (and put it on)
Washing, drying and ironing
Tidy the living room and hoover it
Tidy the kitchen (worktops, empty bin, floor etc)
Clean the bathroom (including emptying the bin, floor etc)

Need to get the DS's sorted before I start, but who will join me today??

FAQ · 09/09/2008 17:11

ooo - that'll be nice - I'm child free this weekend - so I'd usually spend my time with DP - but he's just started a new job and is working this weekend so I'm on my own.....

Up at 6am on Saturday to do a carboot - then no idea what I'm doing for the rest of the time

OP posts:
tootiredtothink · 09/09/2008 17:32

oh how lovely - if i had a child free day i would have a lie in (no getting up at 6am for me!).

Lounge about the house watching and eating crap.

Then out for the evening with friends, coming back around 6am to sleep for the day

FAQ · 09/09/2008 17:36

oh I can't sleep for the day on Sunday - I have a service to play for at 10am - and it's our Harvest Festival

It's the last car boot of the season at my local one and I've still got LOADS of stuff to get rid of so really want to get down there and do it.

OP posts:
tootiredtothink · 09/09/2008 18:20

Shall keep my fingers crossed the weather gets better for your car boot.

And how lovely it will be, being in the house now you have tidied up.

hippipotami · 10/09/2008 09:47

Morning all, here I am, will start on my list. Back later

hippipotami · 10/09/2008 10:10

Have had a look at the laundry and there is not enough washing of one type to warrant putting the machine on for. And yesterday's washing is still slightly damp in places (waistbands etc) so have left them airing.

Will start washing up the breakfast items.

FAQ · 10/09/2008 10:22

ok - I had a slow start (didn't do anything until about 1/2hr ago )

However I have now

Emptied the dishwasher - and put the breakfast things in
Hung the last load of washing I did yesterday out on the line
But my last load of washing on (I don't bother sorting - just bung it all in at 40 )
Put a new bin bag in the kitchen bin

About to get DS2 and 3 ready to pop down to MOrrisons/town so that's out of the way - just hope DS3 doesn't fall asleep on the way as I want him to sleep in his cot this afternoon so I can get other stuff done (like ironing)

OP posts:
shinyshoes · 10/09/2008 10:51

Hi can I join in.

So far today I have

Put binbags out for binmen.
Hoovered downstairs.
Washed all floors downstairs(cept the kitchen)
Ironed DS2 school tops
Hung washing out.

Later on I will
Bring washing in.
Iron DP and DS1 shirts ready for work/school.
go to doctors to collect prescrition and put it in Boots (although I think I will get DP to do this when he takes DS2 to gymnastics)

FAQ · 10/09/2008 10:54

yes everyone welcome

I'm just heading off to town/Morrisons -fingers xxx'd that DS3 doesn't fall asleep in the pushchair.......

OP posts:

hippipotami · 10/09/2008 12:05

Hello all of you

Right, I have washed up the breakfast items, replied to two emails, and done the weekly grocery shop. We are really having to tighten our belts at the moment, and I tried to stick to a tight budget but still went nearly £8 over.... Grrrr.

Am just having a cup of coffee and will get on with my chores for this afternoon which are:

  • photograph items to sell on eBay
  • bake banana loaf with the overripe nanas
  • pack up ds's bag to take to a friend's house this afternoon

Back later
