How do you deal with wet toothbrushes and wiping your mouth after you’ve brushed your teeth

I feel ridiculous asking but here we are. We tend to wipe the toothbrush etc dry along on a towel but the result is of course a towel with toothpaste on it, i.e. looking dirty. Is there a better way to manage this? Shall we just leave the brushes to drip dry a bit and wipe that off instead?

I use a flannel or hand towel. We have one each and throw in the laundry after a couple of wipes. Definitely cannot live with a wet toothbrush in the cup...
Edited to say obviously I wash the toothbrush and around my mouth after brushing. So the wiping is just water not toothpaste!

Wiping it on a towel is grim. Just pop it back in the toothbrush holder when you've used it. Doesn't everyone do that?

Do you not rinse your Toothbrushes after using them to get any toothpaste off then just put it in the toothbrush holder? I just wash my face after I've brushed my teeth then dry hands and face.

If you rinse the toothbrush and around your mouth well before wiping, surely there is no toothpaste on the towel? This would definitely help. Or using a flannel each would reduce the volume needing to be washed?

If I get toothpaste round my mouth I rinse it off with water before I dry my face. Toothbrushes just get put in the mug where they live.

I've never dried a toothbrush unless I was about to pack it into a sponge bag. Otherwise it's rinsed and put back in the cup/on the side to dry.

Never thought to wipe the toothbrush I just run it under the tap and pop it in its holder or charging port.

Are we that bored on a Sunday night. I don’t wipe my toothbrush dry that’s weird to me. I rinse my mouth my brush and the sink all together at the end pop the tooth brush back in the holder walk away and then use it again the next time I need to either obviously morning or night

Rinse the brush and then spin/flick the majority of the water off before putting it back into the holder.

I’ve only ever dried one if it needs packed for travel.

Why on earth would you wipe a brush or your face if it had toothpaste on it and not rinse first?

I also clean my teeth before I wash my face, but I still don’t have toothpaste around my mouth before the face wash. Wouldn’t want to rub it around my face and it’s rare any makes its way outside my mouth anyway.

I can't tell if this is a real question...but it's so off the wall that I can't believe someone could make it up.

You rinse it under the tap, tap off the excess water, and leave it to air dry. Then rinse your face and dry it with a towel.

The only possible reason for your question that I can come up with is that you don't have running water?

Wow, it’s amazing what you learn on MN. I’m nearly 50 and it’s never occurred to me to dry my toothbrush unless I was about to pack it for a trip away. Just rinse it to get all the toothpaste off and leave it standing upright (electric toothbrush) to air dry.

Our toothbrushes doesn’t go in a cup as they’re electric, they stand up on their own. I rinse under the tap and then wipe the excess off water with a hand towel. Stand them on the sink back and wipe that down quickly once a day.

Well prepare to be flabbergasted, I dry my toothbrush. Electric one, take the head off and give it all a good rinse, quick dry on my towel and back on the side. Honestly couldn't stand just putting a wet brush back to dribble the remnants of water down the side of it.

I dry the toothbrush as otherwise we get limescale buildup in the cup. But agree rinse it off so there shouldn’t be toothpaste going on the towel. And we have a cup despite having electric toothbrushes because if we have them standing on the shelf they take every opportunity to swan dive to the floor at the slightest knock.

Rinse it under the tap after use with the toothbrush switched on. Turn off tap, then the motion of the toothbrush shakes off most of the water. Remove head and allow to air dry.

But there's hardly any water left on it if you tap it off!

Mine is always totally dry by the morning.

I'm actually the anal one in my house with toothbrushes 😂 I have my own holder and I put it away in a cupboard because I can't bear the thought of anyone touching my toothbrush or dripping their wet hands on it.
