Can anyone help me to find some really, really long curtains please? : )

I have been searching on ebay and google but not come up with any long enough.

They have to be quite thick as it is old windows - French doors rather, so thicker the better (barring concrete, it doesn't 'drape' well )

The windows are 120" or 10ft long, width isn't enormous (maybe about 8-9ft) but the length is a real problem.

I don't know how to make good curtains either, but it might be the only option!

Thanks

Not if you took your time. Give yourself some credit.

Oh pattern matching a must Solo. I was thinking she could split her fabric length ways to get a match with the panels on the first curtain and then obv pattern match on the other.

But allowing for the hems, it wouldn't match doing it that way...

CoolYourJets · 29/05/2008 22:14

I thought she had 28" of it? 10' drop leaves you 8' to mess around with to get a pattern match surely?

solo · 29/05/2008 22:22

Sorry, must've misunderstood you. I know iif you have plenty of fabric to play with, you can do anything really. I get the impression that WW isn't as confident as she could be that's all.

CoolYourJets · 29/05/2008 22:30

You could be right there.

I tell you a saturday job in a haberdashers you specialised in window dressings really set me up for life.

My 15.3 I could work out all things curtain and blind related.

LOL! my first job(Saturday then full time) was in a curtain shop too...I know what you mean, but it was a long, long time ago and I am a bit rusty until I get my hands on it IYSWIM.

CoolYourJets · 29/05/2008 22:34

I know what you mean. At least it was a curtain shop. I was plagued with old biddies taking 40 mins to choose 6 3p buttons.

solo · 29/05/2008 23:28

LOL! great fun back then eh? I loved those days...sigh...

solo · 29/05/2008 23:29

You sound as old as me by the way!

WonderingWhy · 30/05/2008 07:18

How about I send it to you guys and you can do it for me

I was turned down for a job in a curtain shop! And I specifically told them at the interview, that I found buttons exciting!!!!!!

Gah. They thought I was a freak.

LOL! Well, I'd love to say yes, but unfortunately I am unwell and don't have the energy to do anything.

WonderingWhy · 30/05/2008 11:34

Oh no, what's wrong? Poor you.

Hope you are better soon xx

Oooh! thanks for the cake! WW, I have ME and it's troubling me at the moment. I'll live though and as it's been bad for the past month, I hope it'll give up and bugger off again soon.

WonderingWhy · 30/05/2008 11:43

Oh that's horrid, yes I hope it goes away soon. Things like that are just so unpredictable, usually turn up just at the worst moment.
Get better soon

Yes they do. I've not had it this badly in 3.6 years, so bit of a shock. I've had it 9 years though, so I know what it can do to me.
Thank you for your wishes!
