Laundry still drowning?

MyLemonWriter · 15/03/2025 13:18

A few months ago we started to re-wear clothes that weren't dirty. Our laundry halved. We have also been trying to hang items out in the air. Again we are seeing a reduction. Freeing up valuable time and helping the environment.

Can I ask - what do you mean about rewearing clothes that weren't dirty? Were you wearing clothes once and putting them in the wash? Why?

Bananalanacake · 15/03/2025 13:52

I also wear clothes several times before they go in the wash. I also laugh at those who wash all towels after one use.

I don't wash anything after one use unless it is actually dirty

I don’t believe that about underwear @MyLemonWriterConfusedGrin

keyboardusername · 19/03/2025 22:20

someone on here suggested for duvets, turn them over but change sheets and pillowcases only, to get another week out of them. works well to cut down on time and laundry.

Stichintime · 19/03/2025 22:24

Do people really only use one side of the duvet when sleeping? I'm sure I use both sides, top and bottom during the night!

Pants, socks and tights always get washed after one wear. Everything else is assessed after a wear to see if it needs it or not.

Blondebrownorred · 20/03/2025 09:55

Is this a joke? You rewear pants and knickers?

No chance you went from the kind of person who washes towels and jeans etc after every single use to the kind of person who re-wears underwear and doesn't see why not.

Blondebrownorred · 20/03/2025 10:33

That's disgusting.

It was a habit to simply throw clothes in the wash, even when it wasn't necessary

OP posts:
Mancala · 20/03/2025 10:36

Ok, but it is necessary to throw the pants you've been wearing all day in the wash, towels are different.

What does it take for you to class underwear as “dirty” then if you wear pants for several days?

Hopefully you don’t have kids!

You turn the duvet totally over during the night?
