I hope your step mm is ok Bianca. At least now she is in a safe place, and they will be able to look after her.

Ruby - do sats vary by area?
I have dds in yr 2 and yr 4, and dd2 (yr2) is doing her sats this term, then the nex big lot are yr 6.

Tort - it wll only crash now when you are in the middle of something important.

BiancaCastafiore · 28/04/2008 22:17

Thanks Jas I feel better now my dad has rung - he sounded so much better about the situation than he did in his earlier message.

Funny that he was at the same hosp this eve 7 years ago visiting me and new baby dd! He hasn't been there since!

tortoise · 28/04/2008 22:21

That is true Jas! I am going to have to turn it off this time! DS1 has his SATS the week after next. Has to be at school at 8.30 every day which means we need to leave here at about 8am. OR i have to let him walk it alone.
See you tomorrow. Going to bed now!

Poor DD is not well tonight. She keeps crying and she wont let me leave her for long before she wants me again.

Bianca Sending good vibes for your Step Mum.

Tort if it is crashing after about 30 mins and DS1 used it for an hour after you cleaned some of the dust I would say it is over heating.

Did you take the side panel off?

If you did not then it would be worth doing and cleaning the dust from the CPU.

Tort now says "what a CPU?"

The CPU is a square block with gaps in it and has a fan on top of it. I would not remove the fan unless you know what you are doing as it is east to break the CPU if it sticks. Then you need a new one and motherboard as both need to match.

But you can just about get a little paint brush in the gaps to flick the dust out. Have the hoover going to get the dust. This will keep the CPU cooler and should stop it shutting down.

You will find lots more dust around the inside of the PC. Try to clean it but go very careful not to take wires off or break anything. The little paint brush is great for getting in little places. Keep the hoover going to get the dust or the fan on the CPU will just blow it back into the CPU block.

Jas I`m glad things look a little better tonight. I get a lot of onfo from another forum and I also watched a lot of what XP2 used to do and learnt from him.

Got to go DD crying again. Another long time. Poor DD

Night night all

aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh i have spent the past 5 hours finishing this assignement and printer has gone arsey! it wont laod the paper properly- wath out below- printer flying fast from window!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dylsmum1998 · 29/04/2008 00:03

after much annoyance the printer gave me back the pen, that blocked the paper from going though

ok i tipped it upside down and shook it rather violently- still its working now- so panic over assignment printing nicely as i type. just need to write my conclusion then i can go to bed [yawn!!}

dylsmum1998 · 29/04/2008 01:02

yay me i finally finished my assignement. so i can go to bed for couple of hours before dc get me up!!!
i have one more assignment to do then thats it for this year- just an exam to revise for after that. feels so good to have finished this one i started it before easter it was such a pig to do. but its done now.
next one shouldnt be so hard, just very boring. need to hopefully catch up with a couple of the others from the course tomorrow to check what i'm supposed to be doing and make sure i'm doing it write, as i've missed most of the lectures for that lesson this term and i dont like the tutor much, so dont want to ask her.
anyway enough rambling must go to bed

night all
xx
