Hi Dream, good to see you. Haven't had my eyelashes dyed for agggges. Had them done for my wedding and felt v glamorous. Hope the girly night in helps. I had a 'feeling rubbish' period just after Christmas when DH found me sitting on the bed crying about my inability to cope with life. Freaked him out totally, esp when he asked what he could do to help and I suggested tidying the bedroom wardrobe Lasted a few fairly horrible weeks but as you said doing proactive things can help and that's when I discovered Fly so there's possibly something about clouds and linings in there.
Hoping I make sense. Am onto my second (large) cup of fresh coffee for the day and seem to be babbling.
Luda Glad you've made a decision on the house. Having moved 4 months ago I can highly recommend NOT doing it unless absolultely necessary. And all the money you've saved on solicitors fees, stamp duty etc etc can now be spent on buying lovely things for your current place.
Am off to take Dream's advice and search archives for exciting slow cooker threads. I'm just soooo rock and roll

TheMadHouse · 28/04/2008 13:01

Jas it can be pants when RL piles up on us.

IVC I jeart my slow cook, but I am a mad nutter and all the boys love that type of food. I ccok bolegnease, mince and veg, any type of stew, chicken and pappers. Alsorts really, I am a kind of bung it all in and hope for the best. It also means we go out on a morning and something waiting when we get in.

Anyway - must eat will be back later dudettes

Ludaloo · 28/04/2008 13:02

Thanks IC I guess it does make sense to stay put, and you are right, we could spend some saved money on a bit of sprucing up.

I have assessed the house and it is mainly upstairs that needs attention. Bathroom, bedrooms and spare room.

I am putting off changing any beds until I can figure out what to do about the washing machine

NotABanana · 28/04/2008 13:52

Hi everyone!

Got a fair bit done.

Loads of washing.
Pegged most of it out.
Pit away most of my clothes.
Hoovered all downstairs, the stairs and my bathroom.
Got out fish for tea and planned what to have with it.
Planted flowers in the garden.
Order shopping from John Lewis.

To do
Mission.
Fresh water for animals.
Tidy our bedroom.

TheMadHouse · 28/04/2008 14:35

argggggggg

I hung out the washing and it poured down it now needs to go in the washer and be spun before I try and dry it.

Havent got much done as I fell asleep, I think I need it, but never mind

grouchyoscar · 28/04/2008 15:48

wooohoo Jas GREAT TO SEE YOU ooop Cap lock error. BTW feel free to be teary here, I find sobbing rather cathartic.

Seems that I'm making tea tonighrt. DH is super busy at work (milestone due Thursday) so I offered to take personal pressure off him and do all the family bit.

Temporary single parenthood is us

Better get sausage casserole on

Nutsaboutchocolate · 28/04/2008 16:54

Hi Everyone

Sorry you are having problems atm Jas We all get like you feel from time to time. Everything seems to be going wrong all the time. Life is then a very hard fight. I have been there so many times in the past but we get out the other side of it all and we then get on with life.

Money is the biggest worry for most people these days, so dont feel alone about money worries. I have just changed my electric over again. It always seems like someone is ripping us off with their prices.

Even if you dont want to say to much when you post Jas Just post and say Hi Even just reading someone else saying Hi back can be up lifting.

Tort Dont worry about Saturday night. I tried to say this last night but my lappy kept freezing up. I found out this morning it was because I had 3 scans going all at once.

Make sure your anti virus has all the latest updates and run a full scan of your PC.

I will look into something else that could be making this happen. I remember something that was said before about a PC keeps shutting down and it was to do with some codes. I remember the person had loads of these codes on their PC but only needed one. The rest were spy-ware ones which the PC did not like. Once deleted everything was working fine again.

The other thing is.... What is the date you done a system restore. It will need to go back I would say at least a month from today. Only going back 2 or 3 days or even just a week might not be long enough.

Do you have a recovery disk for the PC? It might be worth a try if you have. Make sure you save any photos or files that you know are clean on disk before you do this though as it will wipe stuff off your PC Make sure you have your internet connection disk at hand as it will need reloading to get back on BB. Also take all the BB leads out of your PC before you do the recovery disk.

The recovery disk will put your PC back to how it was delivered to you. (Unless you have made a newer one since having your PC) so anything that you have loaded onto your PC will be lost. Once you have done the recovery, you will need to down load any updates from Microsoft

If you want to know more then just MSN later or email me.

I better get on with dinner for DC. HNtree and DS2 got soaked on the way back from school. DD was ok in her buggy and rain cover. Me? I was at home The worst part for DS2 and HNtree was it stopped raining as soon as they got in and came out really sunny. If they waited 15 minutes they would have stayed dry.

BBL with my list for today.

HN xx

sagacious · 28/04/2008 16:55

IV I have a slowcooker so far I've mastered bung in everything stews but thats about it.

My done list:

Hoovered upstairs
Internet banking
Hot spotted main bedroom

Off to see why dc's are SO QUIET

intravenouscoffee · 28/04/2008 16:57

Have cooked shepherds pie for tea, done morning and afternoon routines and just finished folding the washing so feel quite positive. Just watching Pingu and preventing DD from pulling the dog's tail. Again.
TMH What's happening with your anaemia? Sorry if you've answered that on another thread, haven't been keeping up very well of late. Just managed to rescue my washing before the heavens opened.
Hi GO. Have been doing the pretend single parent thing for a few weeks here too as DH is working long hours at the mo. He's got some holday coming up soon so that should be a welcome break for us both.
Better go and feed dog. Still considering the slow cooker.

TheMadHouse · 28/04/2008 17:33

IVC Thanks for asking re anemia - I am seeing a specialist on 15 May on private healthcare (first date he can see me), as it is really low and iron tablets, injections and diet are making no difference. I also have no B12 or folate. So I just have to plod on till then.

Boys are bathed and fed and DS1 is having some wii time (30 mins) as he has been such a good boy and he has a very large ulcer on his lip and has tried really hard to eat

I think that any slow cooker is good. We have a large one, did have a smaller one, but gave it to mum and got a bigger one so we could all eat.

I am having my hair cut and coloured tomorrow - yippee no more grey

Link for lovley boden skirt http://www.boden.co.uk/sale/col.asp?segname=Women&styid=WG256&segid=6&gpname=Skirts&desname=Swishy+S ilk+Skirt&gpid=26&gen= I only ever buy sale stuff. I also got some sandles that are so nice too

Boys PJ shorts are great, but only in the sale. Everyone round here is in next and I think it is real nasty for boys at the moment. So it is fatface sales and boden and gap sales for the boys

Ruby We have no savings at the mo too - DH had to have sometime unpaid off work at the beginning of my illness and unfortunatly the bills still needed paying , but just think those lovley windows.

TeenyTinyTorya · 28/04/2008 18:36

EHM I live about three miles from Menstrie!

Housework not going so well, just got home from filming so I'm going to play with ds for a bit. He's just getting confident walking on his own, and it's so much fun!

BiancaCastafiore · 28/04/2008 18:42

Hello

TMH I like that skirt. Jade green is a great colour Hope th ehair-cut looks good tomorrow.
Ruby @ asking windows man to hoover up once a week! Glad your party was a success. We printed out the wordsearches you sent but didn't need them in the end, I'll save them for another time.
Luda glad the house decision has been made. How much free-reign do you have over re-decorating? (dd loves the t-shirt btw, thanks!)
Grouchy good luck with single parenthood! We have a week coming up mid-May when dh will be busy so I'll be in the same boat.
Hello to everyone else

I had a good day at work until an awful fall-out with the boyfriend of another employee - he came in with a very agressive manner, shouting at me over some problem with his girlfriends wages (bank were slow clearing her cheque - not my fault). Whole thing was truely horrible. I hate confrontation and kept telling him to please calm down but he was persistant - his poor girlfriend was in tears! Horrible man. He eventually stormed out claiming he'd never heard of any employer paying by cheque and the banks taking 4-5 days to clear a cheque I thought that was completely normal! ???
Anyway...it's over, he left...I just feel sorry for his girlfriend.

Dd had a load more friends back after school which was fun but tiring. Dd was too tired in some ways so we had some moodiness from her (and ds for that matter) They've had some quiet time now and are almost ready for bed.

I think that in small shops and stuff it can be the norm, however, my brother still pays cash (social club - read pub) and it saves them bank charges and also saves on banking
once a week.

As a sat girl in greggs way back when I also got cash.

BiancaCastafiore · 28/04/2008 18:54

I realise the cheque thing is a little unusual (small business) but the few days to clear a cheque within the bank is normal for any cheque isn't it? and she's worked for us for 10 years with same pay methods - never been a problem before!
Wages aren't even anything to do with me but he wouldn't accept that either.

Nutsaboutchocolate · 28/04/2008 19:26

Hi Bianca Poor you. I wonder who wanted the money more her or HIM

He was way in the wrong for doing what he did. The wages/cheque/work are nothing to do with him so he has no rights talking and acting the way he did with you. I bet he wanted the money because he has not got any. XP1 was like this with me. I done the work he spent my wages. What did he do? Nothing!! If my money was not there in the bank (a mix up or bank holiday etc) he would have a go at me.

It is normal for a cheque to take from 3-5 days to clear. I know one bank it was 6 days Even BACS can take up to 4 working days. If she was given the cheque the day she was suppose to get the cheque then it would be down to her and the bank to when the cheque will clear.

Tort If you read this, then I found some info about PC shutting down. It could be over heating because it is full of dust. The fans get very dusty and the CPU gets full of dust as well. Then the airflow is not good enough to cool the CPU It will then shut down so you dont do any damage to the PC with really over heating. You can stop it shutting down. If it was to get really over heated then it would sound a warning beeping but you would have to shut it down. If you dont then you will get damage.(and get a really bad headache from the beeping ) It might be worth giving the fans and the CPU a good clean and make sure all the wires are still in place. A small hoover and a little kids paint brush is good for cleaning the dust. Just make sure you unplug the PC first. I remember XP2 cleaned the fans and the CPU about once every 6 months and it was very dusty inside the PC when he done it.

BBL, going to take DC to bed now.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 28/04/2008 19:30

Bianca - what a tosser! I know of some small companies that still pay be cheque. We pay our staff through our online banking. It is very easy. I bet he just wanted some of her cash.

It is hailing here.
