life is too short to have summer and winter cushions.

Yep I've put the summer cushion covers on, and also hung the summer curtains and put the winter ones in the attickfor storage.

Summer furniture is also now out in the garden.

Winter clothes packed away in storage, summer clothes brought out for an airing.

Summer bedding on all the beds.

Fresh floers in vases dotted around the house

Fresh bread in the oven.

Body exfoliated, tinted moisturiser applied all over.

Pedicure ready for sandal weather.

Do I get the prize?

suedonim · 23/04/2008 13:39

We just decamp to our summer home - so much easier than all that cushion-changing, dahling!

RosaLuxembourg · 23/04/2008 13:40

You don't NEED the prize OMDB. You ARE the prize.

OverMyDeadBody · 23/04/2008 13:41

roffle.

My tongue is in my cheek by the way

Flum · 23/04/2008 13:42

You've put away the winter clothes!!!

'Never put away till May'

We have summer furniture.

Twice a year a removals firm comes and changes it all over. We lend the out of season stuff to a poor family we know.

OverMyDeadBody · 23/04/2008 13:47

lol

The sad thing is the only bit that's true about my last post is the bread in the oven, except it's not because I'm a domestic goddess, it's 30 loaves in the oven at work. I will be taking one home though!

MrsBadger · 23/04/2008 13:48

ah but OMDB have you sold the house?

because I did all that for six weeks and now have a CASH BUYER so no longer need to bother

Polgara2 · 23/04/2008 13:49

Oh gosh you have just reminded me that my mum used to have summer and winter curtains. I had forgotten all about that! Too much effort required for me though.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 23/04/2008 14:11

We change the dark blue velvet curtains in the drawing room for pale yellow silk but not yet - it's still too cold in the evenings (and the silk would get trashed with the dirt from the fireplace). Cushions will get changed at the same time.

I should do the same in the dining room which has mid-green velvet, could replace with natural linen maybe...??

Do we have to wait another week before we get the summer clothes out? I am pining for my flip flops. I have one pair in my wardrobe that were a birthday present. V. tempted to get them out to go get DS from school.

We don't change our curtains. We still haven't got any in our sitting room. But we have 'only' been here a year, all in good time.

Probably when the kids go away to university (or prison).

Must admit I am impressed by the summer and winter cushion covers. Bet they are all from Ikea though so not that grand -eh????

bozza · 23/04/2008 14:36

So that's a no to my new flip flops then?

doggiesayswoof · 23/04/2008 14:40

I can't believe it - this thread has made me WANT summer cushion covers

Am nesting though. Tis not normal.

doggiesayswoof · 23/04/2008 14:43

Bozza, it is very sunny here and I am in my flip flops!

bozza · 23/04/2008 15:07

Think I will look cold and under-dressed for just the 10 mins it will take me to go and get DS. Then revert back to my ballet shoes....

Yes, last weekend, along with changing throws and table runners, and removing curtains.

3 cheers for summer

booge · 23/04/2008 15:26

Funny thing is we don't even have nice curtains let alone summer and winter curtains. One day the Booge house will be lovely until then it's Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes décor for us but maybe just maybe I can run to summer cushions.

booge · 23/04/2008 15:28

Ahh table runners, aren't they just a food trap? We have a special Christmas one but otherwise our table is naked.
