Cast iron casserole in dishwasher?

Caught DH about to put the cast iron in the dishwasher (not like I remind him every time!), I rescued it but then was thinking has anyone done this? Would it really be ruined? Could I put it in occasionally for a good clean?

Our Le Creuset goes in the dishwasher regularly. It's fine.

I've just realised that my big Le Creuset casserole fish has a cream enamelled interior !!

I have been putting le creuset in the dishwasher for 30 years and it’s fine. Not quite as shiny as it once was, but that’s a price well worth paying not to wash up by hand 😂

My Le Creuset is over 20 years old and goes in the dishwasher on a regular basis.

Is absolutely fine.
