Shopping list app for us all to add to

Hi,

Do any of you use a shopping list (groceries) that the whole family can link/add to?

I've downloaded a few but they all seem to be ones where I could make a list and then just share it with the others, rather than us all download it and add to it when we remember something.

I'm forever doing the shop and then dh or the kids saying 'did you buy any X?'

It's often something I hadn't realised we'd ran out of. I figure if we had a shared app then it's their responsibility to tell me we've ran out and less on me to remember which I don't cos my memory is terrible--

Alternatively we could just make another WhatsApp group just for groceries but I thought there'd be an app out there?

Thanks :-)

We used to use m notes - ideally for shared to do lists but now we just use alexa

Choupet · 05/03/2024 18:04

Alexa.

Bring!

Chocciechunkcookie · 05/03/2024 18:37

We just use google keepnotes as you can add collaborators. Worked for us as we all (me, dh and teens) have a Google account already

TheHennaHairedHarridan · 05/03/2024 18:40

Our groceries.

Caspianberg · 05/03/2024 18:43

Apple notes. We have some notices like todo or shopping that are permanently shared and either can add to

FusionChefGeoff · 05/03/2024 19:46

Alexa

FinallyHere · 05/03/2024 19:51

Another vote for Alexa.

I use a piece of paper on the side in the kitchen. Old fashioned but works.

stargazer02 · 05/03/2024 19:56

A mixture of Alexa and the Tesco app and they add exactly what they want.

BookwormDadUK · 05/03/2024 19:57

We use FamilyWall. You can do collaborative lists and a shared calendar!

How do you share to continue to add to? When I’ve shared it sends as an attachement

MyLovelyPurse · 05/03/2024 19:58

A piece of paper and a fridge magnet

CombatBarbie · 05/03/2024 20:03

Alexa.... If in house it's spoken too, outside house anyone can just add to shopping list via the app.

Caspianberg · 05/03/2024 20:22

@Karwomannghia - you just share with xyz as usual. They get ‘shopping’ as a shared list and they you both have the same ‘shopping’ list and can both alter and change it.

Its collaborate not send copy of that helps, you can toggle and change it

Ponderingwindow · 05/03/2024 20:26

We tried a few things, but now we just use Alexa.

MrsWidgerysLodger · 05/03/2024 20:26

Anylist. You can rearrange the list categories so they're in the same order as when you walk around the supermarket. Plus they have a meal planner section which we use and you can also add recipes off the internet via linking them or add your own (or just write what you're having per day).

You can also create more than one list which we've found great when going on self catering holidays or shopping for birthday parties etc as that stuff can be kept separate from the main grocery list.

Bumble84 · 05/03/2024 20:28

For those that use Alexa where is the shopping list stored? Is there a list in the app?

BuffaloCauliflower · 05/03/2024 20:30

Another vote for FamilyWall. I love it. I also do all the meal planning in there and shared to-do lists, as well as the main family calendar.

thesleepyhoglet · 05/03/2024 20:34

How does Alexa work when you go to the shop?

DelilahBucket · 05/03/2024 20:38

We did use Our Groceries but now use Google Keep as we can add via our Google Mini in the kitchen

Curlybrunette · 05/03/2024 20:49

Thanks everyone.

As others have asked how does using Alexa work, do we log in somewhere and see the list?

We're not all on apple (dh is an apple refuser!) so can't use notes.

I'll look at the other suggestions, thank you
