How often do you clean the inside of your windows?

Just that really. It's one of those jobs I seldom get around to. Fairly big 4-bed house with conservatory and venetian blinds in most rooms, so it's a long and crappy job...

The answers here are EXACTLY what I'd predicted... A sliding scale from "never" to "at least once a week" 😂

I feel validated, so I’m not quite such a dirty cow….

BHRK · 13/10/2023 21:24

Every 2-3 months

Houseplanter · 13/10/2023 21:25

Every couple of months maybe. It always surprises me how much cleaner they are after.

The bifolds more often as they get dog nosed.

Kitkat1523 · 13/10/2023 21:31

once every 2 months on average …..kitchen ones every week as they get water marks on them from tap

tootrueblue · 13/10/2023 21:35

I do mine every 6-8 weeks using the e-cloth window cleaning pack (Amazon, under £10). Doesn't require any product and the windows are sparkling. My MIL convinced me to try it.

Tarquina · 13/10/2023 21:50

Ground floor every two weeks, top floors every 4 weeks.

darisdet · 13/10/2023 21:56

The hallway windows (three sets!) need to be done every few weeks, unfortunately. Couple of times a year for the rest.

VivienneDelacroix · 13/10/2023 22:00

What do you mean by clean? I spray with glass cleaner and wipe them down every week.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 13/10/2023 22:00

They get done once a month with bog std window/glass cleaning spray and kitchen paper. It’s part of the cleaner’s standard rota.

Justmuddlingalong · 13/10/2023 22:01

When the cleanliness of the window cleaner's effort outside shocks me into submission.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 13/10/2023 22:03

Definitely at Christmas. Maybe another time if I'm doing a bit of a spring clean. I don't have any big wide windows though, I'd maybe do them more if I did.

Patio doors where the kids touch most weeks, one behind the kitchen sink once a month, everywhere else couple times a year

Same. Can't bear the way the sun highlights the sticky fingerprints on the patio doors 🤣

2023shady · 13/10/2023 22:11

Every month maybe? They're probably due, especially as the cat has taken to licking the windows Confused

fridaynighter · 13/10/2023 22:13

Every 3-4 months, kitchen window more often and bay window at front every couple of days as dog breathes on it !!
But..... they always look streaky when I'm finished!

2023shady · 13/10/2023 22:19

In fact maybe the cat is telling me they need cleaning Blush

Yeah, that's what I mean by clean. Although some of our window frames get dusty and mouldy so I have a bowl of hot soapy water and a J-cloth to wipe those down, too.

All of mine desperately need doing but it is hard work when you have a lot of windows and have to climb on worktops or crouch in bay windows to get it done. Soon...

Mumaway · 13/10/2023 22:32

There's a great aerosol type spray from Bohle that our window fitters gave us. Streak free and low effort for cleaning

Gnomegnomegnome · 13/10/2023 22:34

Canyoucheckonme · 13/10/2023 21:00

@Gnomegnomegnome my MIL cleans her windows inside and out once a week. I have no idea why! I do not have the energy or inclination for that at all.

Oh I never do outside! I’m not an animal!

PickAChew · 13/10/2023 22:36

When they annoy me but as infrequently as possible. They get incidentally cleaned a lot more in the winter when I have condensation to wipe up.

DementedPanda · 13/10/2023 22:39

Every bloody day for the living room window as I have a dog that thinks he's a cat and sits on the window sill making art. The others once a week as he has less access to them

Redlarge · 13/10/2023 22:44

About twice a year

fetchacloth · 13/10/2023 22:53

I usually clean the inside of my windows soon after the window cleaner has cleaned the outside.
It's easier to see what needs cleaning then.
