Does a reed diffuser that scents a room actually exist?

I've bought so many that frankly are a complete waste of time.. from most of the high street shops, and more expensive. None smell unless close up and even then not for long.

Does anyone know a brand that actually manages to make a room smell nice?

The company (which is not a very good one) simply recommend that diffusers can be made up to 25% but you have to check the sds for each individual fragrance to find the safe limit for that particular fragrance

Both the fragrances you are using are a maximum 25% safe limit. That should be 75g of carrier base and 25g fragrance oil per 100g of mixture.
You are using 33.3333 which is why they are so strong

Which is a better company to buy the raw ingredients @Flopsythebunny? You've misunderstood me, I wasn't saying that you'd referenced essential oils, I just meant I don't use essential oils as I know you have to use far less of them.

I was bought a Lily-Flame Love diffuser for Christmas - it's still going strong in the downstairs loo, so 5 months of use, it's patchouli and sandalwood. I'd definitely buy one for myself, I've been very impressed.

Scent perfique are the best quality fragrance oils you can buy in the UK. They sell everything else that you need for diffusers too.
Always check the sds though for safe usage amounts. Section 10a of the ifra. It really isn't safe to use more than stated
You can also make room sprays with these oils using 95% formulators alcohol and 5% fragrance oil .or, you can buy a pre prepared room spray base.

I reckon like perfume they've changed the ingredients so they're not as strong. I used to be able to smell the white company and Next ones when I walked through the door (despite them being on the landing) now I only get a very faint whiff when i walk straight past it. Every time I kid myself the next one will be better. It's not. I MUST stop buying them!

Some ingredients have been banned, others have has the amount allowed to be used severely cut. I it's been a nightmare for fragrance producers in the UK and Europe.
Some manufacturers get around it by importing ready made from China. The restrictions don't apply to such imports despite not knowing for sure what the hazards and allergens are contained in them.

The best ones I have found are from Hampshire Candles. I love their New Forest Walk, Parma Violets, Peony Blush and Bakewell Tart.

Thank you @Flopsythebunny I'll take a look at Scent Perfique. I'm obviously doing the old quantities from when I first started making my own diffusers, I didn't realise the law had changed, so thank you for letting me know.
