Ottoman

Yup. All beds are ottoman. So handy.

HappyMe6 · 23/04/2023 11:06

We bought a glass unit all towels duvet covers etc in there

RuffledKestrel · 23/04/2023 11:49

A 4 drawer IKEA malm unit at the top of the stairs works for us.

Top shelf in the wardrobe. Towels and tea towels folded neatly and in rotation. I saw a hack with bed linen where you fold the set into one of its pillowcases so each set stays in a little packet and stacks nicely.

We don’t have an airing cupboard, towels in the bathroom on the towel rail. Bedding is in our respective bedrooms on a shelf at the top of our fitted wardrobes. We have a ‘blanket box’ downstairs in the living room that doubles as a bench.

I did have a large wardrobe in the spare room that I used as a housekeeper's cupboard, but I got rid of that a couple of years ago when I decided it was taking up too much room. Looked lovely...all the linen & towels folded beautifully. I thought it was my dream solution...

I rarely need all the extra linen now as bedding comes off, gets washed, dried and straight back on the bed. The spare linen is stored in labelled packing cubes and kept in the top of the wardrobe (I highly recommend packing cubes for this use). DS flannels are kept in an open box in a drawer in the main bathroom, my flannels are kept in a bedroom drawer (very close to ensuite). DS has some towels & bathmats on a shelf in his wardrobe, we have towels and bathmats in a drawer next to ensuite in the bedroom. Towels for downstairs loo are kept in utility room. It actually works much better than my OTT housekeeper's cupboard solution.

Bathroom undersink drawer - hand towels and face cloths
Hall cupboard- towels and some linen
Beds with underbed drawers - linen for that bed

caringcarer · 23/04/2023 17:25

Bed with drawer under for kids bedding. We have an ottoman.

caringcarer · 23/04/2023 17:26

Tea towels in kitchen drawer.

caringcarer · 23/04/2023 17:27

Table cloths are stored in a cupboard in the dining room.

Loadofoldshart · 23/04/2023 17:34

I keep it in a big built in cupboard with slatted shelves (but with no hot tank). A friend of mine does the same thing but got a radiator put in the cupboard which I thought was genius!

Sgtmajormummy · 23/04/2023 17:54

I have a tall glass-sided wooden cabinet in the bathroom and all the stunt towels are folded on the visible side, older ones facing the other side.

Kitchen tea towels and napkins in the third drawer down. Tablecloths in the sideboard but the same three get rotated.

Bedding under the bed and out of season duvets on top of the wardrobe in plastic zipped bags.

But I would love an airing cupboard. I always offer to reorganize SIL’s when I’m there...

It's not great unless you want the heating on though. I had one exactly like this and haven't put the radiator on once. Probably didn't help it was a small cupboard also housing flammable liquids on the floor (hybrid airing cupboard and understairs cupboard idea!)

Loadofoldshart · 23/04/2023 19:35

Yeah they have the heat on regularly due to health conditions - no flammables 🤣

Bed linen on the shelf in the top of the wardrobe.
Towels, in a cupboard on the landing.

I’d love a proper built-in linen cupboard though - you see them on old floor plans…

I’m going to miss mine! We are moving but currently have a walk in linen cupboard big enough to hide from the children (when eating chocolate).

Bedding in bedside tables. Towels in the cupboard with the washing machine (our bathroom is downstairs) and flannels in a basket in the under sink cupboard.

WarningToTheCurious · 23/04/2023 20:24

We have a hot water tank sized cupboard that houses an MVHR unit. I put a metal shelving rack in there for towels and bedding, and there’s still room for holiday luggage.

Meadowflower2023 · 23/04/2023 20:30

Built in wardrobes in the spare room, middle section has shelves, all our spare bedding and towels are in there. It did feel odd putting them in there rather than an airing cupboard when we moved I have to be honest!

UndertheCedartree · 13/05/2023 16:54

Bedding is kept in storage in each bedroom and towels/facecloths in the cupboard in the bathroom.

Rumsworthy · 13/05/2023 17:04

Towels and facecloths in the bathroom,
Most of the bedding is kept in a chest of drawers on the landing, older DC's is in their rooms in drawers under the bed.

Bathroomlove · 13/05/2023 17:11

I still very much miss my old linen cupboard. Double width doors and a ton of space.... <sigh>

here, bedlinen is in wardrobes in each room. Towels and face cloths in stacks in bathrooms. Tea towels, kitchen hand towels etc in baskets in the kitchen.

ASGIRC · 14/05/2023 17:44

Bedding for my bed is in one of the bed drawers.
Towels are on a shelf in the bathroom
Kitchen tea towels, dinning room table linen, etc, in a drawer in the kitchen
