Our airing cupboard was removed to enlarge the bathroom, so I bought a wooden bed with large drawers under it to store the towels. One bedroom has a large wardrobe with IKEA basket shelving I use that for all the bed linen.

A friend stores all her airing cupboard stuff under one of those beds that lift up (can’t remember the name).🤔

We don't have an airing cupboard towels and face cloths are on a shelf in bathroom. We have a contraction that fits under kitchen counter to create a shelf for t towels. Bedding in vacuum bag in bedroom, stored under bed.

Kids bedding lives in their wardrobes, bedding for our bed and the spare bed is in the wardrobe in the spare room.
clean facecloths live in a basket by the sink in the bathroom. Towels live in a cupboard in the bathroom.

I try to keep what we have to a minimum too - so for grown up beds we have two sets of bedding per bed. For the kids we have a little more to allow for accidents/illness. For towels I’ve got rid of the bath towels, no one uses that size, so we just have bath sheets and hand towels, enough for what we’re using, plus a set in the wash and a couple of extras for guests.

Bedding is in a blanket box at end of bed, and some of boys is in plastic under drawer box in their own room. Towels are in a deep drawer at bottom of wardrobe on the spare room. And boys spare towels/swim stuff is in drawer in their own room. Tea towels and special tablecloth/runner (only come out as xmas really), live in a set of drawers in the kitchen/dining area.

Ottoman

SamMil · 23/04/2023 08:17

Our bed has big drawers underneath - we keep towels in one and bed sheets in the other.

Topbird29 · 23/04/2023 08:17

And bed stuff and towels for guests live in duvet bag with duvet and pillow in the spare room wardrobe.

I keep bedding in drawers under the bed. Under bed storage is essential!

BertieBotts · 23/04/2023 08:19

In drawers under the bed (our bedding)
Inside the sofabed (spare bedding)
In the kid's wardrobe/drawers (their bedding)
In a chest of drawers in the hallway (towels, tea towels, cleaning cloths, face cloths)

I have two large lidded baskets from Dunelm under our bed. One has bedding - we only have two sets for each bed, one on, one in the wash. The other has bath towels, again each person in the house has two towels. Hand towels and face cloths are in a vanity unit under the sink in the bathroom.

DeathMetalMum · 23/04/2023 08:21

Drawers under the bed here for bedding and towels. Dc's have those underbed storage boxes. Facecloths go in a drawer in the one of the bathroom units. We have an airing cupboard but it's not easily accessible as we have the PC on front of it. We do keep winter/summer duvets in there.

Towels on bespoke built-in rack in corner of bathroom. Flannels in a small basket alongside them.
Bedding, and I have lots because I have a weakness for decent covers and sheets, is in a dedicated space in bedroom built-in wardrobe, all tidy and easy to reach.

DiscoBeat · 23/04/2023 08:25

We've got an oversize chest at the foot of our bed for all the towels and our bedding, guest room has bedding in that wardrobe, and the DCs bedding is in another chest on their landing, so it's all roughly in the place it needs to be.

DiscoBeat · 23/04/2023 08:25

Facecloths are in baskets in the bathrooms.

SquigglePigs · 23/04/2023 08:29

Our spare bedroom has massive built in wardrobes and one section is big drawers so bedding and towels go in there.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 23/04/2023 08:29

All our beds have drawers in - bedding in there
Towels etc on shelves in bathroom
Other bits and pieces - blanket box at end of bed.

We don’t have an airing cupboard, so have a IKEA wardrobe (minus the door) in the space opp the bathroom. The unlabelled drawer is the junk drawer that I’m too scared to open. Works well, but we are moving to a house with a huge airing cupboard and I am rather excited about that.

Where do you keep linen in you don’t have an airing cupboard?
WolfFoxHare · 23/04/2023 09:02

In an IKEA PAX wardrobe in one of the spare bedrooms - PAX is very versatile/modular so we just put several shelves in it instead of having a rail and hanging space.

WolfFoxHare · 23/04/2023 09:03

I’d love a proper built-in linen cupboard though - you see them on old floor plans…

stormelf · 23/04/2023 09:08

I have a large 1940s dressing table on the landing, one draw has towels, one draw has bedding and the smaller draws have flannels, spare toilet roll etc. We don't have an airing cupboard, I think it would be been taken out years ago to make the bathroom bigger (1920s house)

mondaytosunday · 23/04/2023 09:09

The spare bedroom has shelves in the cupboard so I keep bed linen and towels there. Also bottom drawer of the chest of drawers is full of bed linen.

TimeToBreakFree · 23/04/2023 09:23

Bedding in my room is kept at the bottom of my wardrobe and in DC room under the bed.

But I make sure I wash out beds on different days and if I do it early enough it can be dried by nightfall so it's put back on completely fresh!
