Glad they are ok TMH

Kids are all up, dp is fast asleep, but has someone coming to give us a quote for a new front door today so will have to get up at a reasonabl time
We have beenhere 11 years, and you could see dayligh throught he crack in the frontdoor when we moved in!

ludaloo · 10/02/2008 08:44

Morning

We have frost here too, but it also nice and sunny.

EHM I hope your dad is ok and !!!

Bianca Sorry I didn't get back on yesterday. DH and I are not speaking and he hogged the comp all evening.
I hope you had a chance to talk with your DH last night.
Hopefully I will be around today. I have to go and pick DS up at some stage and take my friends DD1 home.

tort Its sounds like Mickey is settling in quite nicely.

I am sooo tied...horrid cold, 2, 6 year olds who wouldn't go to sleep and then woke up at gawd knows what time! a 2 year old with a bad cold and a big row with dh has taken its toll!
Yesterday the kids had the bouncy castle up, and two small boys (I KNOW WHO YOU ARE>>>AND WHEN I DO CATCH YOU>>>>WATCH OUT!!!!) decided it would be oh so funny to throw a bucket of FROGSPAWN all over the castle and half the lawn. I chased one of the boys half way down the road, but he was waaaay too fast. I know the father of one of them, so I shall be having words!
DD1, bless her heart was very upset for the poor frogspawn, and picked pretty much every single bit of the goo up and saved it in a bucket. We then took them back to the stream.
I would have grabbed the boy and dragged him back to the garden to pick them up!!! Or put some down his t-shirt...ooooh I was cross!! Just as well I wasn't quick enough really!!!

Anyway.......I had better get on...DD1 and friend are doing Hama Beads...and they all need help.

Morning ALL

Yesterday was nutty and lovely, Dad and his partner came round. We haven't seen them for ages. Ed got his Christmas presents, We had a meal and my dad took us all outside to see the eclipse of the moon and view the noth star.

Ed went to bed at 11:30

Don't want to waste this lovely day so I better get my head sorted out and FLY in the garden

Haven't been able to catych up on the thread so I hope everyone is fighting fit and having a fab time, catch you later x

EHM · 10/02/2008 11:25

Hi Everybody
Just wanted to let you know my dad is ok. They kicked him in his throat, stood on his knee. Hurt his collar bone, he has scratches & a few bruises. Refusing to phone police or go to A & E. Spoke to my youngest brother who is very angry & is determined to seek the 2 boys men out. both my mum, sister & myself have asked them not too. His pride is bruised.

Hope you & your lo's & pets are oll ok.x.x.x

DontDreamItBeIt · 10/02/2008 12:17

EHM I hope your brothers don't get themselves into trouble if they find them.

Ludaloo The things small boys think is fun. But [mile] @ your dd collecing hem all. I hope you and your dh are speaking now.

GO _ My dad usually tells us about things like eclipses, but I missed that one.

I'm cross with dp. He's gone out and left me to deal with his mate when(if) he turns up today.
DS put his mobile phone in the fish tank this moning, and dp ended up shouting at dd2 (wasn't even her who left open the gate) and made her cry. Why does he hink it is ok to shout at them if he apologises afterwards? She is such a sensitive little soul, she always takes it personally.
He also made a huge messin dd2s room looking for his old phone, which he has left me to clean up.

Janni · 10/02/2008 13:36

Hi ALL
EHM - I'm glad your dad is OK, that must have been terrifying. It would be great if he would change his mind about talking to the police, those thugs need to be stopped!

Am having a slow day, need a bit of a kick now - hardly did anything on my list yesterday either

Right: babysteps...

  1. Tidy the kitchen and do the dishwasher
  2. Have a general pick-up, then I might be able to think straight about what's next..!
TheMadHouse · 10/02/2008 13:54

DH has put up the wirlygig and is now going to cut a pavinbg slab - argggggggg

I can not look, I hate it, but we reallt need a level step out of the kitchen door and stop the slippy mum slide that remained after the drain was reloacted. He also needs to lay 30 paving slabs, but I think that will be easter week. I am just hoping to be able to put the washing in and out safely as..............

You guessed it TD is out of action again for at least a week until they get the part they need. I do hope it can be fixed no pennys for a new one.

Ruby - please repeat your dogs theory..Glad your foot is better.

DD making a parallel mess as I tidy up..

Need to: gather up kids dirty clothes that mysteriously failed to make the washing basket,
hang the rest of DHs shirts. Now he DID do half of them yesterday, but true to form can never FINISH any job he starts

I've been told lots of time about the dogs plan for dses, but never thought to try it on dp. You know the old dog, new trick thing? I think it may be all too true in his case. DS definitely needs a run twice a day though.

I missed the poorly feet Ruby Glad you are mobile again.

I've shopped and cooked, just got tonights tea to finish, then a quick clear up in the sitting room.Back later.

Neverenough · 10/02/2008 16:14

Hello All.

Haven't been here for ages-I had to ban myself because was spending far too much time on MN and oops suddenly it was the week before Christmas and not ready!
Also we are in the very stressful process of buying our dream house-completion is next Friday and to date, we do not have a mortgage offer-I am calm about this now(but have been more stressed than I have ever been, not sleeping etc)
Repeat after me: it will all be fine.
Hopefully we will get our mortgage offer tomorrow or Tuesday and apparently it's all possible to still complete on time right up to 2.30 on Thursday!
Sorry haven't read all the thread and hello to anyone who doesn't know me!

Well, because of all the uncertainty I have done very little, but thankfully it's only 3 miles away from where we are now and we are leaving under no pressure with Removals people booked -so should all be okay thanks Ruby!
Yes 'tis very exciting!

TheMadHouse · 10/02/2008 17:03

Oh Dream house - fantastic.

Ruby I agree re the dogs and that is kind of the way I work here both with the boys and DH. Consise instructions, plenty of excerside, well fed and load them with praise when they do something right.

Seems to work for me to as we will have been married 13 years next month.

I have 2 paving slabs as you step out of the door and DH still has both hands. I also have a workingoutside light too.

Off to dish up dinner - toads, mash, carrotts, leeks, cabbage and gravey - yummmm

Grouchyoscar · 10/02/2008 17:37

Hello

Having a sit down as I've been tidying the garden all afternoon. so it was garden FLY today. I have

Tidied round the wheely bins and swept the yard round them
Swept up the mounds of wet leaves in gthe garden
Bagged them up for leaf mould
Swept the patio
Moved cast iron furniture about
Cleaned round the bar-be-que
Cut bag and top dressed the herb box (which was looking very sad)
Re-site barbie
Sort out garden toys
Wipe the washing lines and bring in the pegs for a wash
Turn over Ed's growing boxes, take leaves and sycamore keys out, remove weeds and topdress
Water boxes with solution of chicken manure
Bring garden tools in

I need to get my hands on a pressure washer and blast the place mercilessly

I've also emptied the DW, put it away, tidied the kitchen table, load wm and run made lunch, and sorted yesterday's wet washing for drying. and DH has spent all day watching sport and being on his PC

A productive day I think

It was good to be out in the garden again TBH. I have the urge to get a try of primulas and put them in jolly pots round the back door. Tomorrow maybe.

EHM hope your dad is Feeling less brised (both physically and psychologically)
Jas My dad said there's another couple of lunar eclipses this month
How do Neverenough

Better make plans for a cracking half term for Ed. BRB

tortoise · 10/02/2008 20:31

Evening all.
DS2 had footie training this morn. DS1 met up with his mate at the park and he then followed us home and stayed until 4! I don't think his Mum knew where he was but he seems to be allowed out and about. Same age as my DS1, no way i would want him out without knowing exactly where he was!
Anyway, they all had fun outside in the sun and i got basic washing up etc jobs done.

Made cheddar curry for tea. My mums recipe! It was only enough for DS1 and i but the other 3 didn't really want it anyway. DS2 did try it and liked it so i wikk make more next time.

Hope everyone has had a good day.
Luda Have you and DH started talking yet?
Bianca Hope all is ok with you too.
GO Looks like you have had a very productiv day.

Janni · 10/02/2008 20:43

Thanks Ruby - I can see the dogs theory working on the DSs, will have to think hard about whether it can be applied to DH...

I have spent so long on MN now that I am way behind, so this is my last post and here are the things I need to do:

filing, prep school bags, tidy up, kitchen and DW (again).

Bewilderbeast · 10/02/2008 21:16

evening all

luda lovely song and I love the black and white shoes at the start of the video but that black and white dress does not do a beautiful girl like that any favours
EHM I hope your dad is doing better today. Honestly I get so at the things teenagers today are allowed to get up to. The police just don't seem to care/can't seem to do anything.
Jas hope all is ok. I'm glad I'm not the only one with a non-conforming child ds is nearly 16 months old and while he is absolutely adorable he can be a proper handful and is into everything.
happy birthday to trinity's gecko neverenough good luck with the house/mortgage/move
GO you have been busy, the garden is on my to do list but I suspect it will be several weeks before it gets anything done to it.
hello to everyone

home-made pizza for lunch

Me showered, hairwashed and ready for bed
